ABC The Good Doctor season 4 spoilers reveal that we have some additional details on what to expect when the show returns to ABC. One casting tidbit is that Carly Pope is guest-starring on The Good Doctor in San Jose, California in the two-part season premiere. Find out what character she is playing and get information on her storyline.
Carly Pope’s Character And Storyline
According to Variety, Carly will be playing the character of Lily, whose husband is in the hospital. He is showing symptoms of COVID-19 and due to the safety protocol, Lily is becoming frustrated. All she wants is to be with her husband but is unable to because of the nature of the pandemic.
Safety Regulations And Frustrated Loved Ones
Just like in The Good Doctor season 4 premiere, people in real-life became frustrated over safety regulations. We’ve all heard the stories (or lived them) of not being able to be with loved ones due to the pandemic.
Sometimes, fathers couldn’t be in the delivery room when their partners were giving birth. People couldn’t gather to mourn the death of a family member. Loved ones were not able to hold the hands of dying patients. Plus, those in nursing homes were separated from the family members that meant the most to them.
COVID-19 Pandemic Featured In Premiere
ABC previously released what to expect in The Good Doctor season 4 premiere, titled “Frontline.”
“Dr. Shaun Murphy [Freddie Highmore] treats a patient who has an illness that is not only unpredictable in nature, but also unlike anything he or the team has seen before; Dr. Claire Brown [Antonia Thomas] continues to work through her grief, still reeling from Dr. Neil Melendez’s death [Nicholas Gonzalez].”
The Good Doctor Season 4 Spoilers
As for what else to expect, we will see Shaun develop his new relationship with Lea Dillalo (Paige Spara). It is teased to be different than the romance he had with Dr. Carly Lever (Jasika Nicole). It is supposed to be not merely dating, but an adult relationship, so that will be played out a bit differently on screen.
Freddie Highmore recently stated that while Melendez died in the season 3 premiere, his presence will be felt throughout the hospital. Meanwhile, everyone is going to deal with the onset of COVID-19 and the safety protocols that make the medical staff’s job difficult. We will also see how those same protocols become increasingly frustrating for both patients and their loved ones.
