The Good Doctor Season 4 Spoilers: Shaun Murphy’s Job Duties Change, Expect Big Professional Challenge

ABC The Good Doctor season 4 spoilers reveal that there will be big changes for Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore). His personal life will include romance with Lea Dilallo (Paige Spara). However, his doctor’s duties will also have some changes. One of those is Shaun will have to teach new residents and guide them. This will prove to be very challenging for him.

When The Good Doctor first began airing, we got to know Dr. Shaun Murphy. We saw his incredible strengths but also learned about his struggles as he adjusted to the workplace. While we still do see him battle a bit with the professional world, the focus has shifted into other areas. In season 4, we will once again be brought back to how Shaun will deal with changes in his job duties.

The Good Doctor Season 4 Spoilers – Professional Challenges

According to Parade, Shaun will have the additional responsibility of teaching first-year residents, guiding them, and even being a mentor. Producer and showrunner David Shore explained,

“As he becomes more experienced as a doctor, part of Shaun’s job is teaching the next generation. So, fourth-year residents have to teach first-year residents and guide and mentor them. Shaun’s incredible skills make this a great opportunity for first-year residents, but specific to Shaun, it also makes this a big challenge for him. You will see these new residents starting in episode 3. We’ve got some great new people coming in.”

The Good Doctor Season 4 Spoilers – What About Lea Dilallo?

In the season 3 finale, the disaster forced characters to realize what they really wanted and it was a reminder of how short life is. Dr. Carly Lever (Jasika Nicole) broke up with Shaun because she could see the connection between Shaun and Lea. It was something she felt that would be impossible to compete with. By the time the finale aired, Shaun and Lea shared a kiss.

Shaun and Lea’s romance will be seen in The Good Doctor season 4. However, it will go beyond just dating. Shore explained,

“This season is taking it a little further than dating. It’s about being in a mature and fully committed relationship and all of the challenges that go with that–the compromises and opportunities that come along with it, what Shaun can teach Lea and what Lea can teach Shaun.”

The Good Doctor season 4 premieres on Monday, November 2, 2020.
