The Good Doctor spoilers, news, and updates tease that Dr. Aaron Glassman (Richard Schiff) walks out in the middle of an operation after he was forced to face and accept his diminishing surgical skills following a stroke. Is the renowned brain surgeon scrubbing out for good?
The gifted brain surgeon tried to ignore the signs of his declining surgical abilities caused by a recent stroke. But Dr. Shaun Robert Murphy (Freddie Highmore) refuses to let him live in that state after watching Glassman from the observation deck and noticing that the latter hesitated in the middle of a crucial, high-risk surgery, seven hours in.
Both Shaun and Dr. Audrey Lim (Christina Chang) asked him to recite the next step of the procedure, but he couldn’t. Feeling humiliated and defeated, Dr. Glassman walks out of the operating room. Fans will surely wonder if it will be the last time he’ll be inside the operating room.
Later on, Dr. Glassman admits that his patients are his top priority even though he has a raging ego. He never thought that he’d eventually give up surgery for the sake of his patients. He also confronts Shaun for pointing out his diminished capacities publicly, especially because he considers him a son.
All these are expected to happen in Monday’s episode of The Good Doctor. The show’s season 6 finale is scheduled to air on May 1 with the title Love’s Labor.
