The L Word Reboot To Finally Reveal Jenny’s Killer

The L Word

It’s more than 10 years since “The L Word” ended and fans still can’t move past the fact that Jenny Schecter’s (Mia Kirshner) murderer was never revealed. Fortunately, the show’s reboot, “The L Word: Generation Q” will give fans the answers that they’ve been waiting for a long time on December 8.

Old and New Casts

The new show will not pick up where the original series ended back in 2009. The show will take place a few years later and without many of the original stars. The original cast members who will be back on the reboot are Jennifer Beals, Katherine Moennig and Leisha Hailey. They will be joined by Jacqueline Toboni, Rosanny Zayas, Arienne Mandi and Leo Sheng as new cast members.

Jennifer Beals who plays the role of Bette hinted that the killer will be revealed soon. In an interview with People Now, Beals said, “I can guarantee there will be a resolution for fans on that issue,” she said. “Complete resolution. It has to be answered.”

Who Killed Jenny?

Viewers may recall that Jenny was found floating in Bette and Tina’s (Laurel Holloman) pool during the final season of the original series. There was a lot of questions as to who the culprit was because before Jenny died, she managed to get into everyone’s nerves and that means a lot of people have a motive to kill her.

Some of The Original Cast and Crew Didn’t Like The Ending

Back in 2017, the show creator Illene Chaiken admitted in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that she’s can’t say with conviction that the murder mystery was the “best choice.”

“I loved the stories we told, but to do a murder mystery maybe was off-topic for us,” she continued. “But it was a metaphor. Jenny brought us into this world. Jenny is going to take us out of this world,” she explained.

“It never so much mattered to me, and I realized it matters to the fans,” Chaiken added. “When you tell a story, you owe it to the fans, but to me, it was just a way to talk about this journey that we’ve all been on together and where we are now,” she added.

Shane McCutcheon’s portrayer, Katherine Moennig also expressed her dislike in a subtle way. “I just want to pretend that [season] 6 didn’t happen, and just cap it at five. The show wasn’t about that, so let’s cap that and end it at five because the show wasn’t about death. That wasn’t what this whole show was about,” she said.
