The Rookie Welcomes Back Jay Hunter

The Rookie spoilers and updates tease that Jay Hunter returns to the show. The actor is scheduled to appear during the 12th and 13th episodes of the current season.

The actor took to Instagram to share the news. Hunter shared a clip with a caption, “Catch me his Sunday on ABC in THE ROOKIE. Thank you guys for letting me play.”

Hunter takes on the role of Officer Gil Webb. In episode 12 titled The Knock, the team gets a report about a severed hand found on the beach, which starts their quest for its owner. Also, in this episode, Tim Bradford (Eric Winter) goes on a double date with Lucy Chen (Melissa O’Neil) and Ashley McGrady (Helena Mattsson) as he tries to prove that he’s not a control freak. The 12th episode recently aired on January 23.

Meanwhile, in the 13th episode titled Fight or Flight, Lucy and John Nolan (Nathan Fillion) will struggle to retake a stolen police helicopter from a cunning teenage thief. They have to successfully complete three quests if they want to get it back.

Elsewhere, Nyla Harper (Mekia Cox) and Aaron Thorson will have to stay in the hospital as they guard a convicted cop killer who’s been injured after a prison riot. The episode is scheduled to air on January 30 on ABC.

Rookie Hunter’s Stint On If Loving You Is Wrong

Fans may recall that Hunter appeared on the primetime TV soap opera titled If Loving You Is Wrong. The soap, which was produced, written, and directed by Tyler Perry, first aired in September 2014 and ended on June 16, 2020. The show focused on the lives of a group of five wives and husbands who live in the same street in a community called Maxine. Hunter’s other acting credits include Max Payne and Acrimony.

The Rookie is an American crime drama that airs on ABC. The series premiered in October 2018 and is currently in its fourth season. The series follows the story of John Nolan, the oldest rookie in the Los Angeles Police Department.

Nathan Fillion takes on the series lead character in the series that’s inspired by a true story of a man named Bill Norcross, who joined the force during his 40s.
