TV personalities and shows come and go, but is The View going to be one of them that gets pulled in 2025? Rumors run rife on social media, especially as a report in December 2024, suggested that ABC execs might look for more right-leaning people on the panel.
The Show’s Days Are Numbered?
Donald Trump’s return as the popular president of the USA made it obvious that the panel seemed to be too left-leaning with a lot of potential viewers. Well, there hasn’t been a major shakeup yet. Additionally, no official announcement of a cancellation of The View arrived.
A few days ago, Hollywood Life reported that the show being pulled seemed unlikely. However, they mostly based that on good ratings, citing a January 2024 article by The Wrap to support their theory. But, The Wrap’s article is old, and ratings can change.
Did the Ratings Fall?
Earlier this year, Whoopi Goldberg was away, and The View slid in the ratings against a Fox program. We reported that “Fox Network’s ‘The Faulkner Focus’, hosted by Harris Faulkner,” beat out the ABC show in ratings. Perhaps Joy Behar’s replacing Whoopi wasn’t a great idea. But, it can be argued that one person does not make the world go around.

Remember, Whoopi Goldberg said in December last year, that she would quit the ABC show if she could afford to lose her income. Clearly, she thought about it. Of course, if she did leave, there might be a bit more balance to the panel because she is notoriously against anything conservative.
Will The Show Survive?
Hollywood Life concluded that the show would go on. February updates for The View since the first week is not yet available, but Nielsen’s Live + Same Day Data indicated a strong performance in the daytime talk show category.
Currently, there is a lot of chatter on Elon Musk’s X that the show’s going down. Especially since the news of Joy Reid‘s MSNBC demise.

However, the hope that The View is going down could be wishful thinking by those who prefer balanced reporting. However, while X boasts itself as the biggest news platform, lots of posts can be attributed to satire or outright click-baiting.
A post about the immediate cancellation of the show that arrived on February 25, claimed it had been pulled. But, it was a meme account. Notably, there is no credible source confirming that ABC canceled the show as claimed in the post.
For now, it seems that the talk show will go on despite unverified rumors. What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments below, and come back here often for all your entertainment news and updates.
