The new episode titled “Squeeze” was teased in a new exclusive clip with Jerry gave fans the reason why. During The Walking Dead Season 10 premiere, the group “must figure out how to get out of a precarious situation.” That situation involves Carol and the mess she dragged the group into during the Episode 8 midseason finale episode, which aired back in Nov. 24, 2019.
Alpha tricked her and led some of her group – including Daryl – into a cave. They found themselves surrounded by Alpha’s horde. So, what does that mean for the future of the group? A fan asked TVLine about Carol and Daryl’s relationship. The TWD fan hoped that their friendship would take the next step. TVLine revealed that the two are still together in The Walking Dead 2020 midseason premiere, but included this major hint: “[T]he two of them still can’t seem to get on the same page, which leads to a big confrontation, an even bigger admission, and ultimately a turn of events that seems likely to change the course of their relationship forevermore.”
It could change their friendship forever. The Walking Dead 2020 midseason premiere promo also showed Carol and Daryl to have a difficult conversation. Daryl tells her that he “Can’t even turn my back on you anymore.” She responds: “I didn’t mean for any of this to happen.” Daryl retorts back: “We don’t fight for revenge, we fight for our future.”
Showrunner Angela Kang said that Carol and Daryl would become the major focus of Season 10. This storyline could have something to do with the pair and how they’re dealing with the aftermath of everything that happened with The Whisperers. As for their friendship turning into something more. Of course, that’s been rumored every season. Kang said that the two are better off as friends for now. She loves Norman Reedus and Melissa McBridge’s dynamic on the show. They clearly love working together and the writers enjoy writing about their relationship.
It’ll be interesting to see how the second half of The Walking Dead Season 10 will change Carol and Daryl’s friendship forever and what it could mean for them in Season 11. What are your thoughts?
