TLC 90 Day Fiance – Happily Ever After star, Elizabeth Potthast is already married, but Andrei Castravet insists on having a second wedding in Moldova. In a sneak peek, the American was told she had to convert and get baptized or the wedding would not happen. She seemed to dread it, but she just wanted to get it over with. After making promises to God, she admitted to being boggled by all the rules.
Moldova Wedding
It was Andrei’s idea to have a second wedding and it needed to be in his native country, Moldova. Even though he doesn’t work and finances are tight, the 33-year-old expects his in-laws to pay for the big event. Not only that, but he orders his wife to tell her father to give them the money they need for the Moldovan wedding.
While in her husband’s country, Elizabeth was surprised by how different wedding planning is done there. The buildings were run down, she had to look at a menu instead of taste testing the various dishes. She knew her family wouldn’t want to eat any of it because it looked “weird.”
90 Day Fiance – Happily Ever After Spoilers – Andrei Castravet’s Gaslighting
In a sneak peek posted on Entertainment Tonight, Andrei told his wife that she either converts to the Eastern Orthodox church and gets baptized or there will be no second wedding. But the Moldovan ceremony was Andrei’s idea, so it was interesting to see how he used gaslighting, a manipulation tactic used by many psychological abusers. He said it like it was demanding the second wedding instead of the other way around.
Religious Conversion
The video clip showed that Elizabeth finally gave in and agreed to convert to Andrei’s religion and get baptized. She said to the camera that she just wanted to get it done so they can “move on.” So, it sounds like he bulldozed her until she finally agreed.
As for changing her religion, Elizabeth didn’t seem like she really wanted to do that. However, we know how bullish and demanding the 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After star can be. So, she reluctantly went to the church and converted, then was baptized.
TLC 90 Day Fiance Updates – Elizabeth Potthast Boggled By Baptism Rules
It seems that Elizabeth might not have realized what she was agreeing to. She talked about how the Eastern Orthodox church has an extensive list of rules that she must follow. She must have a head covering, wear a white dress, and there were many other rules that the church required. She didn’t say if she had all those rules memorized yet. However, she did seem quite boggled over the rules and overwhelmed with it all.
