True Blood Reboot Coming To HBO

According to TV Line, HBO’s True Blood could be making a comeback. They are reporting that a new version of the vampire drama series is in development. Before it went off the air the ghoulish series starred former One Life to Live and General Hospital star Jessica Tuck.

Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and NOS4A2 creator Jami O’Brien are signed on to cowrite the pilot, and O’Brien will executive produce along with Alan Ball.

A True Blood Reboot Is Said To Be In The Works At HBO

The original True Blood debuted in 2008 and ran for seven seasons. The star-studded cast was led by Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer. Sam Trammell, Rutina Wesley, Ryan Kwanten, Nelsan Ellis, Chris Bauer, Carrie Preston, Alexander Skarsgard, Joe Manganiello, and Kristin Bauer van Straten also appeared along with Tuck.

True Blood is based on the books by Charlaine Harris. The setting is a world in which the development of a synthetic blood had the vampires letting the world in on their secret. Most of the vamps lived in Bon Temps, Louisiana.

A True Blood Reboot Has Been Ordered By HBO

Jessica Tuck is known to daytime audiences from her roles on One Life to Live and General Hospital. She was born on February 19, 1963. Tuck starred as Megan Gordon Harrison on the ABC soap opera One Life to Live before appearing on ABC’s General Hospital as Cassandra Pierce. Her credits include the role of Gillian Gray in the CBS drama series Judging Amy.

Tuck was born in New York City and graduated from Yale University. Perhaps her best known role was as Megan on OLTL. She was a regular cast member from 1988 to 1992 and came back as a ghost in 1993, 1999, 2004, and 2012.

She was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 1992 but lost out to her onscreen mother Erika Slezak who played Vikki Lord Buchanan. In 1990, she was nominated for a Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Female Newcomer: Daytime for the same role.

In addition to her primetime credits Tuck starred as Nicole Brown Simpson in The O.J. Simpson Story (1995) and she had a leading role in the Olsen twins’ straight-to-video movie Billboard Dad (1998).
