The Game may possibly be returning to The CW after 13 years. It is reported that the comedy helped launch the network. It is just the latest TV show that is being rebooted, revived, recreated or reimagined. History of The Game TV Show
The series premiered on October 1, 2006 and was the only comedy selected for the network’s primetime programming. It ran for two seasons with the last episode airing in 2009. Then, BET made a deal with the parent company, CBS to make new episodes. The last time fans saw the show was during the season 8 finale, which aired on August 5, 2015.
TV Reboot News: Follow-Up and New Location
According to Deadline, The CW is working on a one-hour follow up to The Game. It will have a new location on the East Coast. Additionally, it has been teased that some of the original cast members may appear on the new series. The media outlet shared information about what to expect in The Game reboot.
“This time, our out-of-touch old-timers are determined to help a bunch of knuckle-head new-schoolers navigate the ruthless game of football on and off the field. They will clash through the pitfalls of fame, fortune and love. Some will win, others will lose, but that’s what happens when you play The Game.”

The CW Reboots
Many networks and streaming platforms are airing or developing reboots of popular TV shows, movies and even cartoons. The CW has already brought to audiences new versions of Charmed, Dynasty and Roswell New Mexico. In development is L.A. Complex and Kung Fu.
Plus, there is also the highly anticipated Walker, Texas Ranger, which will star Jared Padalecki, best-known for playing Sam Winchester on the long-running series Supernatural, which also aired on The CW.
