If you are a lover of daytime television talk shows, then there’s some sad news to reveal. Two major talk shows are being cancelled, with worry that there’s more to come. More on this story, below.
Kelly Clarkson Coming To An End
While there’s been a buzz about this show being on the chopping block, the rumors have become a reality as The Kelly Clarkson Show is ending after seven seasons.
Clarkson released a statement on social media, noting that the decision was not easy, and that this season would be her last hosting the daytime talk show. The reason behind this was that she wanted to spend more time with her kids.
She assured fans that this wasn’t a full goodbye and that she’ll be making music, performing when she can, and potentially could pop up on The Voice again.
Season seven will go on as planned, and new episodes of The Kelly Clarkson Show will air until the fall of this year.
Since the show’s debut in 2019, the talk show snagged a total of 24 Daytime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Talk Show Host (for Clarkson – four years in a row), and Outstanding Daytime Talk Series for four consecutive years.
Wait … There’s More
In addition, Sherri Shepherd’s “Sherri” daytime talk show has been cancelled. Sherri premiered in 2022, replacing The Wendy Williams Show, and will also conclude this fall, 2026, after four seasons. Shepherd is a former co-host of The View, as well as a comedian, actress, and author.
With these two talk shows announcing their cancellations, so close together, there’s been speculation that more are to come. Rumors have been swirling that The Jennifer Hudson Show could be in danger, as well.
While nothing has been confirmed, viewers need to stay tuned to this site to see if Hudson’s show is the next announcement, in what seems like a growing trend.
