The View Whoopi Goldberg is straightforward about her romantic desires and believes that others looking to explore the dating scene should be just as clear. She doesn’t want commitment-she’s more in favor of what she called “hit and run” hookups!
The View News – Whoopi’s Not Interested In Marriage
The EGOT winner, who has made it clear that she has no desire to marry again, highlighted the significance of understanding your own relationship goals.
That’s whether that means seeking a serious connection or, in her case, a more casual encounter—before diving into anything. “I prefer a hit and run,” Goldberg shared during Tuesday’s episode of The View, prompting laughter from her co-hosts.
“I enjoy a hit and run because I’m not looking for a committed relationship.” “The guys will love that,” Sara Haines joked, to which Goldberg responded, “They do.”
The View News: Whoopi Was Married Three Times
Goldberg has experienced three marriages throughout her life-her first union was with Alvin Martin, with whom she has a daughter named Alex; they were together from 1973 to 1979.
She then married Dutch director David Claessen, a relationship that lasted from 1986 to 1988; in 1994, she wed actor Lyle Trachtenberg, but their marriage ended just a year later.
During a recent discussion at the Hot Topics table, the Ghost actress shared her thoughts on a recent Atlantic article suggesting that many people have become disillusioned with finding love.
Goldberg expressed her belief that one reason for this trend is that “people don’t know how to meet each other” anymore.
They don’t understand how to relax and enjoy themselves; “Forget about your income; we’re at the bar, let’s snack on some chips, try one of these not-so-great potatoes, and see what’s happening.”
The View News – Her Co-Hosts Weigh In
Alyssa Farah Griffin, a Republican cohost who married Justin Griffin in 2021, emphasized the importance of putting yourself out there to meet someone special.
She said, “What’s meant for you will come to you, but you also have to show up; you can’t just sit at home and wait for someone to kidnap you.”
Joy Behar, who wed teacher Steve Janowitz in 2011 after meeting him in a nudist colony, shared advice from her therapist: find someone you can easily get along with.
“It may sound boring, but it’s not,” she explained; “As the years pass, you end up being friends-can you be friends with this person?” Goldberg added, “If you’re searching for someone, take the time to really look; I believe you’ll find someone who resonates with you.”
