The View recently returned after a holiday hiatus. And Whoopi Goldberg has repeatedly stolen the talk show’s spotlight.

First The View moderator became noticeably distracted as a mysterious entity materialized. And then the Ghost star suddenly left the set. Get all the details below.

Whoopi Goldberg began a recent episode of The View with her usual opening remarks. But after The View moderator, 68, urged the audience to sit while she offered a news update, Whoopi became distracted by a mysterious entity on The View. And the Ghost actress couldn’t seem to recover after the ghostly glitch, per EW.

“Have a seat everybody, we’ll tell you what’s been going on,” Goldberg began the show. And she discussed President Joe Biden’s recent visit to the Mother Emanuel AME Church in South Carolina.

However, in the middle of a sentence, a strange noise shocked Whoopi. And The View moderator gazed at the ceiling amid audience laughter.

“God, is that you?” joked cohost Sara Haines as she gazed up above the table. But Goldberg tried to recover. And she joined the audience in laughing. “Roll it back,” The View host requested as she continued.

The View Spoilers – Foot Fetishes Topic Sparks Exit

However, The View producer Brian Teta turned to X (formerly known as Twitter to explain). “For those wondering – ‘the echo’ at the start of the show was an issue with the audio board,” he shared. And he asked fans to stop speculating, urging, “Move along – nothing to see here.”

But beyond ghostly glitches, Whoopi also stole The View spotlight by suddenly leaving the table. And as the Wrap pointed out, The View moderator usually stays silent if she dislikes a topic. But when the subject turned to fetishes, Goldberg suddenly left. 

And it all began when the The View hosts talked about a man who wrote to an advice column about how his wife wouldn’t allow anymore foot massages when he confessed to a foot fetish. However, host Alyssa Farah Griffin opined that people should “entertain your partner’s kink, within reason.”

And that seemed enough for Whoopi, who rose from the table and walked off the stage. “Excuse me for a second. Keep talking!”

But Farah Griffin tried to cover up the awkward moment by joking, “Whoopi has left the building.” However, after walking to the edge of the stage to communicate with someone off camera, Goldberg did return. But host Joy Behar questioned the exit.

And Whoopi mocked the situation rather than give a direct answer. “I was so enamored by what you were saying, that I felt that I needed to take a breath, so I could just get myself together, so I could come back to the table!,” she teased. “So I just got up and walked away, and got myself together!”

But after Behar bragged about her feet, Whoopi added, “This is what this conversation does to people. It makes them get up and move. I don’t care! ‘Cause my feet are huge, and no one wants to touch them.”
