The Walking Dead Season 9 premiered on the AMC network in October 2018, and Addy, played by Kelley Mack, appeared in five episodes. Now that the news arrived that she passed away this month, many fans reacted on social media.
Kelley Died Aged 33
TMZ reported that Kelley lost her fight against cancer. Aged just 33, many people feel shocked because she wasn’t old. Unfortunately, younger people seem to be dying more frequently from cancer-related health issues. Whether it’s due to an uptick in the disease, or more news coverage, isn’t clear.

Mack passed away Saturday evening with her mother and aunt at her side, according to her family who posted a message today on her Instagram. Mack had been battling glioma — a tumor that forms in the brain or spinal cord.

AMC Fans React To The Sad News
The Walking Dead and the spin-offs were extremely popular. However, the story couldn’t go on forever and it finally came to an end. So, millions of people recollect the scenes from the show. The death of Kelley Mack attracted a lot of comments when the outlet shared the story on Instagram.
One fan wrote, “Condolences to the family and friends. So young.”

However, some people who watched the show couldn’t recall Addy. So, some folks reminded them that she was part of the Hilltop Colony. Notably, she came to a sad end, not from the Walkers, but at the hands of the Whisperers’ leader, Alpha, (Samantha Morton).

Folks recall that the character of Addy seemed rather nerdy, and she struggled with her eyesight. The tomboyish character fell for Henry Sutton, (Matt Linz), but he didn’t love her back, and got involved with Lydia.
It was all to no avail anyway, as when The Whisperers attacked the Hilltop, she was kidnapped and ended up getting her head chopped off. Her head ended up on a spike. Henry also died in the same season.
Perhaps those who didn’t recall Kelley Mack forgot her because much of Season 9 focused on the developing feud between Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Rick (Andrew Lincoln).
People Currently Fighting Cancer
Fans are right that youngish people from TV are fighting cancer. Currently, reality TV star Katie Thurston, 35, from The Bachelorette is fighting an advanced case of breast cancer that metastasized to her liver.
Then there is Teddi Mellencamp, who was aged 41 when she first heard about her skin cancer. Now 44, she also fights metastasis which spread to her brain and lungs.
There is other news that isn’t so dire. Isabella Strahan survived her fight against brain cancer, and recently, football coach Deion Sanders announced he was cured of bladder cancer.
Unfortunately for Kelley Mack, the outcome wasn’t what fans hoped for.
