3 Reasons ‘Young And The Restless’ Victor Doesn’t Want Adam To Retrieve His Memories

CBS The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) is hellbent on retrieving some inconvenient memories. At the same time, his dad Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) wishes he wouldn’t. Why not?

Adam will soon venture back to Kansas with his crack therapist, amateur Sharon Newman (Sharon Case). We hate to think they’d fly all that way and come back empty-handed. It’s more likely that Adam will remember something that completes his missing memories and that that something will send him off the rails entirely. That would be why Victor is trying to protect him; in this case, he knows the awful truth won’t set his son free.

#1 A.J. Montalvo Attacked His Mom And He Was Unable To Save Her

Adam knows now that he killed A.J. Montalvo or at least he’s 95% sure at this point. But he can’t put the pieces all together as to why and when he finds out he may wish he hadn’t. Adam was a child when this killing took place but Victor was an adult. He knows what really went down while Adam blocked it out. If A.J. was attacking his mom Adam may have been provoked to kill. But what if he couldn’t stop A.J. before he did major damage to Adam’s mom? He would feel responsible and this would eat him alive, knowing he could not protect her. Is this the horrible truth Victor is trying to prevent from coming out?

#2 Adam Newman Did Not kill Just Once

Adam is pretty sure he killed A.J. but what if that wasn’t the only killing he committed? A lot is unknown about that night. It’s entirely possible that the gory scene was even more gruesome than Adam knows. Victor sees that Adam is already destroyed knowing he killed once, what would happen if he found out he killed more than once?

#3 He Fears Adam Newman Will Be Shocked Back Into Becoming Spider

Adam had amnesia not so long ago and during that time he called himself Spider. Is Victor frightened that history could repeat itself, with Adam once again retreating into the recesses of his dark mind? The show keeps bringing Spider up, are we about to see another journey to the arachnid side?
