The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for the week of December 28-January 1, tease that in Genoa City the action will really be heating up on the CBS soap. But before we get to that, we have a quick programming note. CBS will show an encore episode of Y&R on Friday, January 1, so there will be no new episode on that day. But there will be all new episodes of Y&R on Monday through Thursday, so viewers will see plenty of action during the week.
#1 Nick Newman & Victoria Newman Are At Odds
As the week kicks off, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will have angry words with his sister Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). Nick will be upset over Victoria’s ruthless persona, and he’ll blast her for how she’s treated Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) over the hotel recently. Meanwhile, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) will happily prepare for their New Year’s Eve wedding – even though they’ll have a run-in with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) earlier that week.
#2 Chelsea Lawson Suffers A Health Crisis
Speaking of Adam, he and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will gear up for Chelsea’s medical procedure to treat her aneurysm. It looks like there will be some frightening moments for Chelsea, as Y&R spoiler say that paramedics will be called to the penthouse to deal with a health scare. Interestingly, one of the paramedics will be played by actor Matt Katrosar, who is Melissa Claire Egan’s real-life husband.
#3 Phyllis Summers Gets Ammunition Against Victoria Newman
Elsewhere, Phyllis will learn some interesting news regarding Victoria – specifically, that a Newman Enterprises executive in Los Angeles embezzled funds from the company under Victoria’s watch. That will give Phyllis an idea of how to get back at Victoria for her behavior over the Grand Phoenix. Look for Phyllis to work with Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) on getting the dirt on Victoria.
Other Y&R spoilers indicate that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will step in to protect Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) from something. Perhaps Faith will be having difficulties with her friend Jordan (Madison Thompson). Y&R viewers will remember that Jordan wanted Faith to steal some liquor from Society and Faith chickened out, so she could be on the outs with Jordan now.
#4 Sally Spectra Gets Honest About Her Past
Next, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will open up about her past with someone. Will Sally reveal the real reason why she left Los Angeles and came to Genoa City looking for a fresh start? Of course, viewers of B&B know that before Sally came to Genoa City, she faked a terminal illness in order to hold onto a man. That led Sally to lose everything, including her lucrative position at Forrester Creations. We’ll see who Sally opens up to about what happened.
Over with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), he’ll try to do something nice for Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy), but his plans of romance will backfire somehow. In addition, Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) will suffer some type of setback, and she’ll also catch up with her ex, Arturo Rosales (Jason Canela) as Arturo returns to Genoa City for Rey and Sharon’s New Year’s Eve wedding.
#5 Someone Unexpected Crashes Rey Rosales & Sharon Newman’s Wedding
Speaking of that wedding, Y&R spoilers says that a surprise guest will crash the nuptials, and it looks like that could be Rey and Arturo’s mom Celeste Rosales (Eva LaRue), as Y&R spoilers say that Celeste will return for a brief stint on the show. Finally, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will ring in the New Year with Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan), as their relationship continues to develop.

Here we go again with Phyllis! This character is much too unbelievable, so she's the victim? How does her ugly mind work that out, she got the GP by doing exactly what Victoria is doing. She constantly screwed over Abby, Chelsea and even Chloe to get herself in charge, and they have done far less to Phyllis than Phyllis has done to Victoria. Ratting on Victoria and Nikki to save herself from jail. I want to see Phyllis go down, she's a nasisist and hypocrite. She ruins Nick's character, because no guy in their right mind would take her back after all she's done. Throw her out of the GP and burn that tacky place to the ground.
