Casting Shocker: Michelle Stafford Leaving General Hospital, Returning To Young and The Restless

General Hospital Spoilers: Nina Reeves (Michelle Stafford)General Hospital spoilers tease that Nina Reeves (Michelle Stafford) may never make it to the altar with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), but it’s not storyline dictated, it’s bottom line dictated! Contract negotiations broke down between Michelle Stafford and the powers that be at General Hospital, as reported by Daytime Confidential.

At the same time, the role of Phyllis Summers, who Michelle played for many years on the Young & The Restless came open when Gina Tognoni was let go. ABC soaps viewers will also be familiar with Gina, who played Kelly Cramer on One Life to Live. Word has it, Michelle jumped right in to reprise Phyllis on the Young & The Restless and take Gina’s place!

GH Spoilers: No Word Yet On What General Hospital Will Do With Nina Reeves

This is breaking news, so there is no word yet as to how General Hospital will handle the character of Nina, who Michelle has played since 2014. However, Nina is a major character, which, if she is written out, it could affect several other major characters, such as Valentin, Maxie Jones, (Kirsten Storms) and of course Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) and the Nina long-lost daughter storyline. Down-the-road spoilers indicate that the other half of Nina’s broken heart necklace were to turn up, and many General Hospital fans are betting on Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) since the two characters have been fighting like – well, mother and daughter!

General Hospital Spoilers: Nina Reeves Involved In A Major Storyline

Nina’s long-lost daughter storyline and remarriage – or not – to Valentin are such a big storyline on General Hospital, it makes more sense to recast the role of Nina, as opposed to her leaving town permanently or even worse, be killed. Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) would also be out of family members in Port Charles, except baby James West (the Marciano Twins), her grandson, should General Hospital powers that be choose to kill the character off. Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) would have to endure more pain and grief if her beloved stepmother Nina died as well! That just doesn’t seem fair!

GH Spoilers: Will They Recast, Kill The Character Or Have Her Leave Town?

GH could either recast or kill the character or have her leave town; it could get interesting if they decided to pair a lonely Lulu Falconeri (Emme Rylan) with Valentin so Charlotte’s parents would be together; stranger things have happened, how do you think Nikolas Cassadine (Tyler Christopher) came to be? A pairing of a Webber married to a Spencer remarried to a Cassadine!
