Paramount’s Press Release Regarding CBS Daytime Audiences
Paramount recently unveiled a media release that was titled, “Four CBS Daytime Shows Post Year-Over-Year Growth,”, which revealed some great news for a variety of shows
When it came to game shows like Let’s Make a Deal and The Price is Right, both series saw an increase of four percent, which brought in millions of audiences, each.
Meanwhile, on the daytime drama side of things, both B&B and the Y&R had increased viewership by five percent.
The B&B has 4.13 million viewers watching each day, while the Y&R has a total of 5.09 million viewers daily. This makes both shows top-rated soaps, with Y&R in first place, and the B&B taking second spot.
CBS – Is Bringing On The Drama (Daytime Drama, That Is!)
The press release also talked about CBS’s newest daytime drama, Beyond the Gates (BTG), which is set to debut on Monday, February 24, 2025.
The new sudser will take the 2 p.m. ET time slot on the network and will replace The Talk, which has recently been canceled. It will also be available to stream on the Paramount+ app after it airs.
BTG is being dubbed as the first-ever one-hour Black daytime drama and is the first brand-new soap to debut on a network since Passions premiered on NBC in 1999.
Soap fans everywhere are quite excited about BTG, as there were once close to 20 daytime dramas airing at the same time, and now only four are left.
