With that said, the good news is, Floyd is heading to Days of Our Lives (DOOL) and will be seen to soapy viewers as of April 2026 (because the show films several months ahead of time), as the Chad DiMera recast. The even better news is that Floyd posted a highly entertaining video on social media bidding adieu to the CBS soap, shortly after his final episode aired.
Connor Floyd’s ‘Goodbye’ IG Post
Posted to the Beastie Boys, “B-Boys Makin’ With The Freak Freak”, as background music, Floyd’s video started with a selfie-like pose, as the actor, curiously, looked into the camera and ‘wiped’ the lens.
The video proceeded to reveal shots of the backstage area as the crew waved goodbye, Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) practicing his boxing skills, as well as Jason Thompson (Billy Thompson) showing off his dance moves.
The video also had clips of different sets, including Crimson, Society, and the maze from Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn), some dance moves from Vincent Stalba (Carter) in one of the train cars, and Floyd joking around in the maze set with Stalba and Flynn.
Of course, it ended with a bang, as Braeden hit the camera (still practicing his boxing moves) and the screen went blank.

The Caption Says It All
The caption for the IG video says, “It’s been real, GC. What a ride. I have truly been blessed to call myself a citizen of Genoa City. To share the stage with so many talented and hard-working actors, creatives, and crew members.”
He goes on to say, “This is without a doubt a special place. I’m grateful to have been a part of such an iconic piece of art that has lasted through the decades and that has such a stellar, diehard fan base. Thank you for accepting me. Chance will always have a close place in my heart.”

Floyd wraps the post up with “He’s taught me a lot, and I’ll miss him dearly. It’s been an absolute honor to represent the Chancellor legacy. Detective Chancellor, over and out.”
Y&R colleagues hopped in the comment section to wish Floyd all the best. From Melissa Ordway (Abby Winters) to Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers), Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea Lawson), Lauralee Bell (Christine Blair), and Jason Thompson.
Plus, Billy Flynn, who not only worked with Floyd on Y&R but is also the person Floyd is replacing on Days as Chad DiMera, offered this sentiment: “It was an honor to tenderly hold you while you passed on. You’re the man!”
Floyd stepped into the Chance recast role in 2021.
