Eric Braeden Shares Optimism About The Young and the Restless’ Future

“Young and the Restless” has a different vibe on the set now, Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) reveals. He’s been sharing positive news about the soap on his Twitter account, particularly with the news that Doug Davidson (Paul Williams) is finally coming back.

On his tweet, Braeden thanked Steve Kent for the executive decision he made a few months ago, as well as EP Tony Morina and head writer Josh Griffith, for turning things around at Y&R. He also expressed his gratitude to all the soap’s fans.

“I want to thank all of you for being so supportive of our show and DOUGIE DAVIDSON! Ratings have gone up as well! Without you, our friends and fans, none of the above would have happened! We are happy to have Tony Morina as EP & JOSH GRIFFITH AS HW! different vibe on set now,” he said.

Former EP Mal Young had made drastic steps to change “The Young and the Restless” during his reign, writing off characters, including the soap’s veteran Doug Davidson. Fans and co-stars have been vocal on social media, calling for the return of Doug on the daytime soap. A few weeks ago, Braeden also revealed that Young also planned to diminish his character, Victor Newman.

With Morina and Griffith at the helm, Y&R stars and fans are expecting better things. And they are not disappointed with the first news that they are bringing Paul back into the scene. Braeden also seemed to have put a lot of work to make this happen.

“Okay! So, the cat is out of the bag. NONE of any of this would happen without all of your undying loyalty, support and kindness. All of you are the reason “Paul” is back on the canvas. THANK YOU SO MUCH. @EBraeden has been incredible the entire time. A huge thanks to him as well!,” Davidson wrote on Twitter.

Y&R fans will see Paul back at Genoa City on March 25.
