Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) arrogance is evident in ‘The Young and the Restless‘. His attitude allows him to believe that he’s gained power through forced means. But fans are wondering if Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) remains many steps ahead of his vengeful son?
Seemingly possessing devastating evidence that could send Victor to jail for the murder of A.J. Montalvo (a part that’s yet to be cast), Adam feels certain that he’s seized control of Newman Enterprises. Vickie Newman (Amelia Heinle) is fronting defeat. But, like her father, often plays the long game.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Hubris Creates Open Vulnerability
Adam believes that he’s almost like his father among all of Victor’s children. That assessment is partially true.
When it comes to being ruthless, yes, Adam is similar to that part of Victor’s personality. But Braeden’s iconic character also has a gorgeous chessboard that’s visible in the living room at the Ranch. Adam has no such strategy game at the penthouse, which his father built.
Hubris has often caused Adam to underestimate others. He sees everyone, including Victor, as his intellectual lesser. Victor and Victoria sense that and likely are using his flaw to their advantage.
Y&R Spoilers – Kansas Story Is Fully Subjective
Kansas is Adam’s childhood home, where he was happy. However, the retrospective scenes that have played out in his mind since Chris Engen (Adam) became the first, SORAS’d (soap opera rapid aging syndrome) edition of this character have imposed a warped, self-indulgent take on the past.
Adam convinced himself that Victor abandoned his Kansas family. But that’s not true, as Hope Newman (Signy Coleman) decided that she and her infant son weren’t suited for the big city. So, she voluntarily chose to leave Genoa City, Wisconsin, and return to the farm with Adam.
Hope later married neighbor and friend, Cliff Wilson (David Cowgill). He is now believed to have encountered financial problems and took an underworld loan from Alyssa Montalvo’s (Maria DiDomenico) father. Cliff was apparently killed by one of A.J.’s enforcers, who was drunk and instead of scaring Cowgill’s character, accidentally killed him.
Victor is believed to have been involved in some form of retaliation, or willful act that later ended A.J.’s life.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Portrait Hangs In Place
Vickie just returned to her position as head of the family business, with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) having happily departed after filling in for his sister. Nick’s temporary status, as acting CEO, infuriated Adam and fueled his quest to bring Victor down.

It’s too coincidental that Adam was able to quickly secure such damaging intel on the ‘Moustache’. Victor’s actions will probably be revealed as fully justifiable, which Vickie has, or will be informed of.
Victor’s portrait hangs in the Chief Executive Officer’s suite at Newman. Adam will probably want to replace it with his own, but should do so soon as it feels like his stay in the top spot will be brief.
