Soap Faces Shocking Accusations and Potential Lawsuits: #MeToo Movement Sparks Changes?

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that some bombs could be dropping at the CBS soap. According to Highlight Hollywood, this time the drama’s going on behind the scenes. By now, you’ve probably heard plenty of stories coming out of the “Me Too” movement. Women in the industry are speaking up – and that may include several females working at Y&R.

The latest report involves potential accusations against Sony’s Steve Kent as well as Mal Young, The Young and the Restless’ head writer and executive producer. Buzz suggests that some women are considering lawsuits after verbal abuse and sexual harassment. These ladies have allegedly been reduced to tears over their harsh treatment.

Highlight Hollywood’s source contends that “Mal is over his head in this position, and he is not easy to work with as well.” The source also calls Young “very abusive toward any female writers.” If the accusations are true, that certainly causes for concern.

There are issues involving Josh Griffith, too. The former head writer has returned by joining Y&R’s production staff. HH’s insider claims Griffith can be prone to “emotional meltdowns,” so this could be a bad sign. Word has it he was brought back because he’s got too much dirt on the higher-ups.

As for Young and Kent, legal action could be taken in the near future. “There are lawsuits coming, at least one to be filed in the next few months and from what I hear, more are coming,” the insider insists. “The #MeToo moment is about to explode and it’s not just Les Moonves and Charlie Rose that are going to be exposed.”

There have allegedly been cover-ups on Y&R, including one involving a targeted young star. However, the “Me Too” movement could spark some confessions and takedowns. This story is definitely worth keeping an eye on. The Young and the Restless spoilers say the chaos will continue in Genoa City, but some may erupt behind the scenes eventually.
