Soap Opera Community Remembers The Young And The Restless’ Kristoff St. John On The Anniversary Of His Passing

On February 3, 2019, The Young and the Restless’ Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters) passed away. Many fans, and some soap opera colleagues, took the time to honor and pay tribute to the incredible actor, co-star, and friend that St. John was.

Michelle Stafford’s Tribute

Michells Stafford, who plays Phyllis Newman on The Young and the Restless, hopped on Instagram to remember and honor her colleague. She posted an old photo of her and St. John together at an event, in an embrace. Her caption read, “LOVE”.

In addition, Michele Val Jean, Beyond the Gates Creator and Head Writer, also posted something on the social media platform, X. It was an old photo of Val Jean with St. John during happier times.

The caption of the X post read, “Such a loss. I still miss him. Would have loved to have had
that full circle moment of him on #BeyondTheGates Rest in power Kristoff .”

More Tributes …

Daniel Goddard, who once played Cane Ashby on The Young and the Restless, and more recently played Professor Henry “Hank” Dalton on General Hospital, also paid tribute to St. John.

The two worked very closely during Goddard’s time on the Y&R. Goddard posted on X, as well as Instagram. He uploaded a photo of a very young St. John, on his own, with the caption, “7 years #GoneTooSoon #KristoffStJohn #YR.”

Many fans also hit social media, posting photos of St. John, as a beautiful way to honor the legendary actor.

St. John passed away in his Los Angeles home on February 3, 2019, at 52 years of age. While he was best known for his role as Neil Winters on the Y&R, a character he played from 1991 to the time of his passing, he was also in the ABC miniseries Roots: The Next Generations, and made appearances on primetime shows like Happy Days and The Cosby Show.

During his time on the CBS soap, he earned two Daytime Emmy awards and 11 nominations.
