Following the Instastory, the actress openly revealed, “I deal with depression pretty much on a daily basis at this point.”
She continued: “Some days are hard, some days are easier, and sometimes I have to re-remind myself of things that I know to tell myself to help me pull out of a mood or, like, a slump.”
She then shared some steps she does to change her perspective. “I know some of those are silly and I know some of them are easier said than done,” she admitted.
One of Hunter’s saving grace is the life-lesson her mother taught her long ago.
It’s the importance of having a healthy inner dialogue: “The more positive you can make it, the better off you’ll be.”
The Young And Restless News – Gracefully Navigating Depression
The actress first opened to public her mental health struggles last year in light of the World Mental Health Day celebration.
She admitted then that mental health has been something she’s been struggling with for many years as she tries to navigate depression as “gracefully” as she can.
Her caption reads: “It’s not something I share much, and I’m not really sure why.”
Since then, Hunter has been transparent with her struggles in public as her way to spread love and hope to others.
Her message continued: “I think a lot of times I feel ashamed for dealing with depression and anxiety. Even though I shouldn’t be… I think a lot of us feel that way. Maybe that’s why I feel compelled to share this now? To let others know that they aren’t alone. I’m learning how to try and accept and love myself even on the hard days and I hope you are too. It’s so important to check in with yourself and also with your loved ones.”
Y&R Spoilers – ‘Get Help. Do not suffer.’
Hunter’s recent message was shared via Twitter too. Now the post is no longer available but her co-star David Doug who plays Paul Williams on the same show as her, shared it and reminded her: “Get help, You are beautiful and talented. Do not suffer.”
Fans have thanked Paul for speaking up and many people have replied with words of encouragement for Hunter. David said: “I don’t want credit. The depression is real. We must stop being political and help each other.”
