CBS The Young and the Restless star Jason Thompson (Billy Abbott) is talking about when the CBS sudser may start filming again, and you don’t want to miss what he has to say.

Y&R is the number one daytime drama but it, like the other three American soaps still on the airwaves, has not filmed in weeks due to the coronavirus pandemic mandate to isolate at home.

This mandate has effectively shut down the entire show biz industry and as you might imagine those who work in the business are more than eager to return to work.

If Jason himself were making the decision, he no doubt would have already opened the set, with protective precautions in place of course.

But CBS and Sony executives are in charge of making the big decision and Jason notes that he does not envy the difficult position they are in.

CBS told him that they will keep both cast and crew informed as to when they might be able to return to work and Jason has been pleased with the way the network has handled ongoing communication.

Exec’s must consider many angles before deciding to roll tape on new episodes of Y&R as well as its sister soap, The Bold and the Beautiful. NBC’s Days of our Lives and ABC’s General Hospital are the other two soaps that have suspended filming until further notice.

So, what is Jason doing in the meantime during his enforced downtime? The native Canadian is in Los Angeles with his wife and children. He is eager to get back to Canada for both personal and professional reasons.

Jason has family and friends up north and he also co-owns several bars with his business partners. According to Jason, the partners are taking advantage of being closed in practical ways.

For the time being the bars are being given some TLC, with bathrooms, floors, and walls all getting some renovation.

At this time there is no official word on when filming might begin. When it does, Billy Abbott will be busy though–he is starting a new business venture and flirting up a storm with Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan)!
