Brace yourself people, because this “Young and Restless” character will be exiting the series barely three months after his first appearance.
The Young And Restless Spoilers – “All My Children’s” Brian Gaskill Looks To The Future Following Surprising Exit From “Young and Restless”
Introduced as Nikki’s AA sponsor Seth Morgan, Brian Gaskill was ready to settle into his new role when… BAM! He was pushed in front of a moving car by Colleen Zek’s Jordan and well, the rest, as they say, is history.
“Between social media and the Internet in general, news travels ridiculously fast these days …so…yeah, that happened,” he began. “(And if you haven’t seen yet, please watch… I hear Los Angeles might be preempted… so check out Paramount+ or look for Times).”
“I had a great time on Young and the Restless with the producers, directors, publicity department, and other actors,” Gaskill continued writing in response to his swift exit from the long-running soap opera.
“And it was incredible to see so much support from all of my friends on social media, who have been following along over the years… So grateful for all of you. Now let’s see what comes next…”
His exit from the show was as shocking to the fans as the plotline that found his character in front of a speeding car, especially since he was no stranger to the world of soaps.
Already, we’ve seen him in “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “Port Charles,” “As the World Turns,” “Guiding Light,” and “All My Children,” so it will be interesting, like he said, to see what comes next. He’s especially yet to cross “General Hospital” and “Days of Our Lives” off his list.
Y&R Spoilers- Brian Gaskill On Having Limited Work Opportunities in Soaps Since the “Recession”
For Gaskill, there could be another layer of disappointment from his shock exit in “Young and Restless,” especially when you consider that it was his first stint in daytime TV since 2008.
“I wasn’t sure I would ever really get back on daytime because there’s only four shows left, and the job opportunities just really aren’t there as much,” he said in an interview published by Soap Opera Digest in January. “My life’s been a journey.”
Gaskill said his fabulous Daytime TV run ended right in the middle of the Great Recession. This forced him to hold several odd jobs to be able to provide for himself and his daughter financially.
“Then I was just doing anything I could to make any kind of money,” he said. “I sold cars, I became an Uber driver for about two or three years in L.A., but that was killing my body and my car. I finally went back to school for massage therapy, and I’ve basically been working as a massage therapist for the past few years. I feel like I’ve been through five different lifetimes.”
