The Young and the Restless Alum Hunter King Scores Prime-Time Gig

Some fun news for fans of Young and the Restless (Y&R) alum Hunter King. Deadline reports that she, along with Angelic Cabral, Kara Royster, and Justin Long will have guest appearances in CBS’s The Neighborhood for the show’s seventh and final season.

The report reveals that if the network decides to move forward with a spin-off for the 2025/26 season, King, as well as Cabral, Royster, and Long, will become show regulars for the new series.

King Celebrates On Social Media

King hopped on her Instagram handle, posting a photo of the Deadline report. In a caption, she wrote, “Crying, screaming, throwing up. Thank you to @kaplanaaron and @cbstv for this amazing opportunity!”

She goes on to say, “This cast is unbelievable, and I feel so lucky to get to act alongside of them. AHHH someone pinch me!”

Of course, many Y&R co-stars (and fans) were quick to hit the comment section with well wishes and congrats. King’s former TV mom, Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers), wrote, “Yes!!!!!!!”followed by a bunch of fire and clapping emojis), while Melissa Ordway (Abby Abbott-Newman) posted, “YES!!!!! Amazing!!!! Congratulations” – these were just two of the many in King’s IG comment section, from old Genoa City colleagues that wanted to wish her well.

Hunter King’s Y&R Legacy

King played Summer Newman on the soap from 2012-16 and then 2018-22. During her time on the Y&R, she scored two Daytime Emmys in the Outstanding Younger Actress for her performance.

King has been very busy as of late, recently getting engaged to Chris Copier, filmmaker, and also snagging a sweet multi-picture deal with Hallmark.

The actress recently starred in the network’s big hit, Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story, a flick inspired by the romance between Kansas City Chiefs’ Travis Kelce and pop sensation, Taylor Swift.
