In the meantime, we can report that Cathy Marks and Jonathan Stoddard are back on October 16 as young Dina Abbott and young John Abbott in the storyline that just doesn’t want to end.
The Young And The Restless spoilers – Look For Young Dina And John Abbott Next Week
The show is getting the most out of the Dina Mergeron Alzheimer’s storyline while it can. Fans are divided over whether or not the show is milking a dry cow with this latest iteration of rooting around in Dina’s past life for something secretive and mind-blowing.
The last time they did so, hunky Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) was the prize. The Abbott sibs went on a wild chase, found out that Dina had a love child who was dead, but that the son of the son was very much alive and living in Genoa City. On top of that, they already knew him well, as he was Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) best friend. What a coinkydink.
Y&R Spoilers – The Teardrop Of Love Necklace Is In Demand
Now the sibs are in a race against time to track down a memento of Dina’s past that they know will surely make her finals days memorable. And maybe assuage all the guilt they have over the years they lost while growing up?
It’s all down to the Teardrop of Love necklace, a bauble with a past even more licentious than Dina herself.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Dina Mergeron Deserves A Peaceful Passage
Long story short, the sibs found a pic of Dina wearing an emerald necklace and alarm bells went off. They went on a journey to find the necklace and along the way found out that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) had a hand in the mystery, as well as Lauren Fenmore’s (Tracey Bregman) dad. What in the world will happen when they finally track down the emerald and presumably hand it over to Dina? Stay tuned fans, the end of this storyline promises to be a real “gem!”

this is messed up aw dina dies
What I think now and what I've said forever, is Dina got the short end of the stick when it came to this story. I watch both Y&R and GH and love both shows. Both Y&R and GH were running an Alzheimer's story at the same time, Dina and Mike. GH closed out their story, which started in 2018 last week with the passing of Mike, played by Max Gail. Who was amazing and should win every daytime award given out. I have to say, having lived this wretched nightmare called Alzheimer's , theirs was the most true to life, closest timeline and heart breaking story told. The pain and loss each family member suffered, watching their loved one disappear, lucid one minute, gone the next. I wish the writers had been more authentic and true to life in Dina' s story, because this woman would have knocked it out of the park! I'll never understand why the writers chose to make her a caricature, never quit believable. Instead of being a compelling, emotional, gut wrenching story, her illness simply became a springboard for her family to go off on ridiculous and boring scavenger hunts.
Oh Dina/Marla, you deserve so much better.
