Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) has already been back in GC since Thanksgiving, and now Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will get the Christmas miracle she needs when his dad and her ex-husband, Danny Romalotti, makes it back in time to celebrate this holiday with her. With Summer Newman Abbott (Alison Lanier) planning to spend it with Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters), Danny and Daniel being with her is all Phyllis could have hoped for.

As fans know, Phyllis tricked Danny into marrying her years ago when she told him that she was pregnant with his child. When Danny did not turn out to be Daniel’s bio dad, he chose to raise him anyway, making Danny the only father he has ever known.

It’s been nearly a decade since Y&R fans last saw Michael Damian in the role he created back in 1980. For many years, Danny was the show’s rock star and Damian became a musical sensation himself.

In recent years, Damian has done TV movies and other projects and will appear in the Netflix film Falling For Christmas, a project he also produced. However, he is still thrilled he found the time to reprise Danny, telling the December 26, 2022, issue of Soap Opera Digest that his first day on set felt like a “class reunion.”

“There was a lot of love flowing around that day,” he said. “The crew and cast are people I’ve known for years but it was like time stood still in a weird way. It took very little for me to jump right back in and be back where it was. It was really wonder and emotional for me. Of course, I’m very grateful to the fans because really, it’s all about them.”

For now, Damian is only making a few brief appearances, but fans surely will want to see more of him once they’ve gotten a taste of how good it can be to have this popular vet back. Stay tuned The Young and the Restless weekdays to welcome Michael Damian back.
