The Young and The Restless Comings and Goings: Doug Davidson Leaving Y&R

The Young and the Restless comings and goings indicate that another familiar face is soon leaving Genoa City. In fact, there are new reports that suggest Doug Davidson will be bowing out after having spent the last four decades on the show.

Doug is best known as Genoa City police chief Paul Williams, a role he has had since 1978.

While the producers of The Young and the Restless are yet to make any comments about his departure, Paul did drop quite a few more than subtle hints that he’s not happy with the ways things have been going on his Twitter account.

As a matter of fact, it almost seems as though he’s been given his walking papers. On Monday, the Emmy Award-winning actor had a Q&A with his Twitter followers.

Even though he didn’t mention any details, he did say such things as, “They are doing away with history,” “It’s remarkable,” and “You all are so wonderful. I so appreciate your support and kindness and love. Thanks for a fabulous career.”

So does this mean that we won’t be seeing Doug in his role as Paul Williams anymore? Are producers looking for someone else to fill in the shoes of Genoa City’s police chief? No one knows for sure.

But what we do know is that fans will have to tune in to find out more!

The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on the CBS network. Check your local listings for times.
