The Young and the Restless Comings and Goings: Mishael Morgan Returns to Y&R – Amanda’s Dramatic Return

The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that Deadline and Soap Opera Digest have confirmed Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) is coming back to the CBS soap opera. Let’s get started discussing what the actress had to say as well as possible storyline arcs. 

Amanda Sinclair’s Exit

Fans know that Morgan is no stranger to soaps, especially Y&R! The actress has played two different characters. The first one is Hilary Curtis Hamilton, who was introduced in 2013.

However, Hilary was eventually killed in a car crash. Morgan mentioned always feeling like that character’s death was a mistake.

Coming Back to Y&R

Then, she got a call to come back. According to Deadline, it was challenging to come back as a new character, especially a twin of her former character. One thing that Mishael made clear is she didn’t want Amanda to just be “Hilary 2.0”.

“When they were like, ‘And we’re going to let you play a new character,’ that kind of wiped everything away for me, because they knew part of the reason I wanted to leave was because I felt the itch to play new characters… I didn’t want everybody to just see her as Hilary 2.0.”

Mishael Morgan’s Next Return

According to SOD, Amanda is coming back to Genoa City for another visit. The last time fans saw Amanda was in February 2024. At that time, she came to fight for Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) during Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) Chancellor name change storyline.

Possibly Storyline Arcs

The actress could not give any details about her upcoming storyline. However, fans know that Chancellor was recently mentioned, so Amanda’s return could have something to do with that company.

Chancellor is no longer in Jill’s control. However, the company was mentioned in the Friday, March 28, 2025, episode of The Young and the Restless.

That is when Billy admitted to Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) that Aristotle Dumas reached out to make a deal. Apparently, Dumas offered Billy something he couldn’t refuse… Chancellor. 

Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) is already suspicious. So, it sounds like a ton of characters are going to be part of the mysterious Dumas storyline. Since Amanda is a legal shark and has a moral compass, she would be the right gal to fight a legal battle. 

Amanda could also have some run-ins with Devon Winters (Bryton James) and Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic). It would also be really interesting to see Amanda interact with Damian Kane (Jermaine Rivers). 

Morgan is returning to the set to film her scenes sometime during the week of March 24, 2025. Those scenes will air later this spring.
