The Young and the Restless (Y&R) begins with Arturo (Jason Canela) bringing Abby (Melissa Ordway) a pumpkin at Dark Horse, wanting to check on her after Ashley (Eileen Davidson) abruptly left; she’s grateful for having him there. Mariah (Camryn Grimes) helps Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) prepare the coffeehouse for Halloween as Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) questions Mariah about Sharon’s (Sharon Case) charity causes.
The Cover-up Crew Needs To Move JT’s Body
Meanwhile, Sharon arrives at Victoria’s (Amelia Heinle) office, learning Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) doesn’t feel there is any need to talk to any of them, as there is only one option – they need to move JT’s (Thad Luckinbill) body. Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) wonders is Victoria can handle this, emotionally?
Billy (Jason Thompson) and Phyllis both are not thrilled about sharing the Jabot elevator as Kyle (Michael Mealor) talks to Ted (Sean Muramatsu) as Lauren (Tracey E Bregman) and Jack (Peter Bergman) arrive for the board meeting, all eager to decide who will be the new CEO.
Victoria Has Doubts
Victoria is apprehensive about digging up his body, feeling all this happened because JT was so broken; but no one deserves to be dumped into an unmarked grave as he will always be Reed’s father. Nikki assures her that there is no other way, but is is Victoria’s choice to decide and she ultimately decides they have to do this.
Nikki texts Phyllis saying she should be there, just as Lauren sneaks off to meet her saying that she trusts Phyllis to keep Fenmore’s needs front and center when she takes over the big chair and will be disappointed if Phyllis lets her down; Phyllis promises to back her always if Lauren backs her today. Phyllis reassures her she can beat both Billy and Jack.
Battle Over Jabot CEO Brews
At Jabot, Ted tells Billy he isn’t a mole as he doesn’t know who to report on and to; informing him there is an office pool on who is the next CEO. Inside the office, Jack tells Kyle he has a secret weapon and there is nothing secret about Kyle as he is only gunning for the COO position. Kyle feels Jack is backed against the wall, but Jabot needs him more than Jack will need any of them. Jack admits that Billy has plenty of ambition and drive but Phyllis is the wild card and should not be underestimated. He excuses himself to go work his magic, not revealing anything to Kyle.

Abby wants to go home with Arturo but reminds him she has the Jabot board meeting; he suggests she should put herself up as CEO. She doesn’t want it, reminding him this is why she works at Dark Horse but loves how he views her.
Kyle Slams Summer
Kyle comes to see Summer (Hunter King) at GCAC, thanking her for the way Lola (Sasha Calle) sees him. He calls Summer out on her games, saying he doesn’t care about her anymore and it is over; calling her lonely and sad! Summer is angry, saying they are still friends but Kyle says they are not friends. He doesn’t hate them but he definitely doesn’t like her either; ordering her to stay out of his and Lola’s life. She insists he doesn’t know Lola, but he wants to know her and wants it more than anything in a long time.
Lola hears their conversation, as Summer calls him pitiful. He talks about how he thought he wanted Summer, but he was wrong all along and is relieved that something real came along with Lola and now he sees that something real can happen. Lola is a good person and she makes him feel like he can be one too. Summer says that is the meanest thing he has said and storms off.
Rey compliments Mariah on her decorations as she tells him she has no idea about Sharon’s charities. She suggests that he asks Sharon about it, but he is embarrassed saying she probably told him but it slipped his mind. When he leaves, Tessa finds it odd that Rey asked her about the same thing, piquing Mariah’s curiosity about it too.
Nikki confesses to Victoria and Sharon that on the off chance that Victoria would change her mind, she already made some calls and told the city that the park was private property and she would be assuming the repairs. Arturo’s crew is going to fix the pipes tomorrow and tonight the women are going to “take care” of the evidence, so there won’t be anything for them to find.
Sharon feels they cannot pretend this is going to be easy and have no idea what they’re dealing with. They need supplies and a new location; Nikki agrees, feeling they need a solution by tonight. Victoria suggests the lake as somewhere quiet and removed, a place that will allow them to sleep at night.
Jack Meets With Kerry Johnson
Jack meets with Kerry Johnson (Alice Hunter) who thinks it’s a lovely surprise to hear from Jack, but wants to know how Jack can offer her a job at Jabot when he isn’t currently the CEO. She can’t accept it, saying she is flattered but it’s “No!” and leaves.
Phyllis sees Billy leaving, taunting him about withdrawing his name. He says she is a little snark and finds it funny that people used to find that attractive and tells her it is none of her business where he is going. Phyllis contacts Nikki, who informs her about their plans later that night. Sharon leaves and Nikki tells Victoria she doesn’t need to be there with them when they go through with it later but Victoria feels this is her fault and they barely got through it last time with the four of them there. Arturo calls Nikki saying he is trying to dismantle the sculpture but has ran into a problem that he can’t solve on his own.
Billy also meets with Kerry at Crimson Lights; she tells him that he talks an excellent game as he offers her a great contract with Jabot. She reviews it, saying it is not a good fit for her, appreciating it but says she has other options she needs to see.
Kyle admits to Lola that he didn’t know she was there. She says he wasn’t sick enough to sound sincere. He gets interrupted but a message from Jack who calls a board meeting but he doesn’t want to leave now that Lola is finally talking to him so she kisses him, letting him know he has a shot but she is going to make him work for it.
At the park, Arturo tells Nikki the problem isn’t at his end. Suddenly Jill (Jess Walton) says, “That Sculpture is staying exactly where it is!” startling Nikki.
The board meeting resumes at Jabot and each person gets to speak on their behalf. Phyllis wants to know how they are going to deal with the patent debacle. Jack wants to discuss how they are going to move John Abbott’s (Jerry Douglas) legacy forward, with or without the patents.
Mariah is thrilled that Tessa got her a tattoo for a gift; Tessa reveals it didn’t cost her a thing. Mariah loves it, wondering what she should get as Sharon walks in. Mariah pulls her mom aside, telling her about their “favorite detective, Rey.”
Jill Furious Over Statue At Chancellor Park
Jill confronts Nikki that she got a call from the city about her lovely tribute to Katherine was being torn down and tossed aside. She is furious that Nikki didn’t call her or respect her bond with Katherine and now it’s not being moved without her say so. Nikki tells her this is about the plumbing and since Nikki owns the park, she is doing her civic duty and having it repaired.
Jill reminds her that it is Victor’s (Eric Braeden) money and Nikki doesn’t care about the statue but she is putting a stop to this right now. Her lawyers are filing an injunction as they speak and they will carefully dig it up and repair the pipes themselves. Nikki shouts that she can’t do that but Jill gets in her face telling Nikki, “Watch me!”
Phyllis again asks Jack how they are going to dig Jabot out of the hole they are in. He says that is about product and he knows this business inside and out; he will lead Jabot where it needs to go next. Billy says he has been meeting with prospects for RND and chemists. Phyllis admits that Jabot is screwed with the legacies, egos are great and part of that is people have forgot what Jabot is all about.
Jabot is a cosmetics company and they don’t need a guy telling women what they need; they need a woman on top and Jabot needs more women. Billy asks about the patent debacle and Phyllis says, “God forbid a woman speaks without being interrupted,” and brings in her first new hire… “Miss Kerry Johnson, but only if I am the new CEO!”
Lola brings Rey food, saying it is bizarre that he forgets to eat. He wants to know what Kyle did to bring things off track. She reveals that Summer messed with her head. Rey warns her that what a guy says and does are sometimes two different things and suggests she watches her back.
Jill And Nikki Bicker
Mariah keeps questioning Sharon about Rey and why he is so curious about JT and that night. At Chancellor Park, Jill and Nikki continue to bicker as Arturo says he will sign paperwork, assuming responsibility. Jill agrees, saying she is going to supervise the entire thing. Nikki hopes everything will go off without a hitch, looking extremely worried.
