Jack Fills Traci In On Andrew
Jack (Peter Bergman) has tea at home with Traci (Beth Maitland), revealing everything Kyle (Michael Mealor) uncovered about this mysterious consultant Andrew (Coby Ryan McLaughlin). Traci doesn’t want to believe him, saying it sounds like accusations based on speculation. Jack says he is just worried about Ashley but Traci orders him to give Ashley a break and if he plans on stirring up trouble, Traci, herself, will fight him every step of the way!
A blindfolded Kyle is trying samples from Lola’s (Sasha Calle) food truck, when he likes them all, she leans in a kisses him. He declares the kiss as the winner for the street festival. She hopes her truck will be a success, as it can use the exposure there. She leaves and Abby (Melissa Ordway) wants to know from Kyle what he is doing with her boyfriend, Arturo’s (Jason Canela) little sister?
Phyllis Received Another Note
Phyllis meets Victoria (Amelia Heinle) at Crimson, revealing she got another note; it says, “If you don’t want anyone to find out what you did, it will cost you. The first digit is 2.” They have no idea what it means, but as they fret about it, Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) walks up, wondering what is so fascinating?
Kyle says he has been out on a few dates with Lola. Abby insists that Lola is not his type – flighty and pretentious. She is sweet, honest and no BS. Kyle is offended, but says he is ruthless in business and this is personal. He likes that she isn’t flighty nor fluffy and finds it awesome that she drives a truck. He likes that she is focused and loves what she does; she calls him out on his crap and he likes it because she doesn’t make him feel stupid when she does it. Abby thinks it might not be the worst thing in the world if Lola give him a shot.
Phyllis Questions Rey
Victoria and Phyllis question Rey on his own progress on the investigation, but he turns it around on them; especially the fact that Phyllis would be at Sharon’s (Sharon Case) place of business. He feels protective of Sharon, since they are colleagues. Phyllis is impressed with how Victoria puts Rey in his place. Victoria thinks Phyllis should tone it down around Rey but Phyllis makes a good point that it could be him sending the notes since both times they are discussing them, he was around.
Jack comes into the coffeehouse, revealing that Traci is convinced Ashley isn’t doing anything inappropriate; Jack thinks maybe Traci might be right. Kyle insists Ashley took company funds, just like Billy but Jack says knowing and proving are two different things. Kyle feels they deserve answers and she has been doing this before she was CEO. Jack agrees to go to the board but they cannot make it look like they are going after Ashley.
Back at the GCAC, Ashley continues to talk to Lauren, who feels like she is pitching something to her, but doesn’t know what it is. Traci interrupts and needs to speak to Ashley privately; as soon as Lauren is out of ear shot, Traci tells Ashley she is very worried about Daddy’s company!
Both Phyllis and Victoria are sure this is about money, but they’re not sure about how much nor any of the details. Kyle walks up to their table and informs Phyllis there is an emergency board meeting and since she isn’t a big fan of the new CEO, she should trust him and be there. She says its not a priority for her, but she will try to be there.
Traci Grows Suspicious Of Ashley And Jabot
Ashley tells Traci that both Jack and Kyle are bitter and are doing whatever they can to throw her off her game and she got there because Traci got rid of the Blood Abbott clause. Traci is still bothered by how it happened and how quickly it went. Traci wants to know if Ashley is in trouble, insisting the conversation will stay between the two of them.
Arturo surprises Abby at Dark Horse, suggesting they go on a double date with Lola and her new guy. He doesn’t seem happy with it being Kyle, Abby says he is a good guy, but can’t vouch for his romantic or personal life; Arturo doesn’t like the sounds of it. Jack tells Abby there is going to be a Jabot vote and their votes could be critical.
Ashley wants to know why Jack begrudges her for this and no matter what she does, he tries to stop her. She thought Traci would have her back. Jack comes into GCAC and informs Ashley he is taking her up on the board meeting and her explaining why she hired Type A Consulting and the meeting is right now. Ashley is confident about the meeting, but Traci is upset about it.
Phyllis Suspects Rey Is Sending The Notes
Phyllis continues to talk about why Rey would be the perfect person to be the one writing the notes. He can’t solve the case and the only person who can vouch for him is Sharon. They both agree they have to be on guard 24-7. Phyllis leaves.
The meeting begins at Jabot and Jack says Jabot needs to stay completely transparent when it comes to finances. Kyle shows that Ashley is paying a guy named Andrew and a non-existing company, and with Ashley refusing to reveal anything, they had no choice. Ashley brings Andrew into the room and reveals he is Dr. Andrew Linford.

Lola finds Arturo, sharing exciting news that she will be part of the Festival, saying she will be swamped and hopefully open a second shop. He congratulates her and that she will probably celebrate with Kyle Abbott. Lola tells him she is a grown woman and Kyle has been perfectly polite and respectful with her, in spite of anything Arturo has heard about him.
Just then, Rey walks in the doors and Arturo lets him in on the conversation. Rey does a background check through the GCPD and says Kyle has a rap sheet including interfering with a burial ground.
Ashley berates Kyle’s lack of research protocol. Andrew says they are working on an anti-cancer research for cosmetics and health. Jack and Kyle remain skeptical; Andrew apologizes for the threat and Ashley blames that on Billy (Jason Thompson). Just as Ashley is about to adjourn the meeting, Phyllis walks in and asks Andrew what he is doing at Jabot; Ashley and Andrew exchange worried looks.
Phyllis Reveals Andrew’s DNA Lab Connection
Phyllis says she worked with Andrew years ago in New York in a DNA lab and reveals that Andrew told her he is here running a DNA lab at Memorial Hospital. Abby confronts her mom, saying it doesn’t make sense that she would hire a DNA expert to work on cosmetics.
Lola defends Kyle to her brothers, and she is angry that this would be the thing they agree on. Rey wants her to know that sketchy entitled guys are a waste of her time. She says its weird that Arturo has no right saying anything about dating an Abbott when he is dating one.
Ashley promises everyone that this project belongs solely to Jabot as Kyle demands to know what other cosmetics companies has Andrew worked for. Jack is thrown by the moonlighting and since he sits in the board there, he knows a rushed DNA test doesn’t come cheap. He tells Ashley it is all about the secrecy. She says it is about the person who sits behind the desk. Traci asks everyone to take a step back. Jack wants to see the paperwork, but Ashley says she has given an explanation and Jack tells her she can’t talk her way out of them. She ends the meeting. Jack shouts at Andrew asking how much Ashley paid him, offering 10X as much to tell him why she hired him?
Lola is upset with her brothers because it was a great day for her and her truck and they had to ruin it for her. Arturo suggests she brings the little “grave digger” to Rey’s place for dinner, and he will bring Abby. She feels she will have to cook everything and Kyle will be the one on trial; she doesn’t need their approval, so when she wants it to happen, she will.
Victoria can’t find any information on Rey, but when Harold drops off her mail in her office, she receives mail and her note says, “If you don’t want anyone to find out what you did, it will cost you. The third digit is 0.”
Ashley Drops A Bomb
Jack pulls out his check book as Andrew looks at him. Ashley screams for him to stop and will tell him for free. She admits Jack is right, this has nothing to do with skin cream but it was very critical and specialized research and necessary because of the Blood Abbott clause and it does involve DNA. She says, “I hired Andrew to handle your paternity results. Great news, you can stop looking for your biological father. I know who it is. You’ve been john Abbott’s son all along!”
