The Young and the Restless’ Jason Thompson Teases Big Things Coming For Billy Abbott

The Young and the Restless spoilers suggest that Billy Abbott might be at a bit of a crossroads where business is concerned; however, his portrayer, Jason Thompson, recently hinted at a major storyline headed his character’s way. Find out more by reading below.

Thompson hopped on Instagram this week and uploaded a video. It’s simply of him on a couch with the caption, “Y&R Update,” across the screen.

In the clip, Thompson notes, “I got good news, and I got bad news.”

He goes on to say, “For people that like Billy and you want exciting stories on The Young and the Restless, I’m telling you, it’s only getting better. So, you’re in for a helluva ride.”

Thompson states, “The bad news is, if you are someone that doesn’t like Billy and you don’t want exciting stories to happen, well, you’re sh!t out of luck because it is happening anyway. Stay tuned.”

The comments section was everything! Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers) wrote, “I love Billy!!! (with a ton of handclap emojis). Meanwhile, co-head writer of the CBS soap, Jamey Giddens, whose material is about to hit the canvas, also offered some handclap emojis. Plus, Susan Walters (Diane Jenkins Abbott) also chimed in with “That’s awesome,” as well as some handclap emojis.

Billy Abbott’s Next Chapter

While his business life isn’t booming, Billy’s personal life is, as he’s expecting a child with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and the two are slated to get married this October.

While Billy was focused on reclaiming Chancellor, that got placed on the back burner when Sally suffered a medical emergency during the week of August 31. What comes next for Billy Abbott? Fans will have to tune in to find out!

Thompson entered the role of Billy Abbott in 2016, taking over from Burgess Jenkins. Before that, he worked on General Hospital, playing Dr. Patrick Drake from 2005 to 2015.

While he’s been nominated for a Daytime Emmy multiple times for both roles, Thompson ended up snagging the Lead Actor award for his work as Billy Abbott in 2020.
