Lauralee Bell (Christine “Cricket” Williams) found just enough time between filming The Young And The Restless on New Year’s Eve to get an early start on welcoming 2024. And as Bell shared on social media, she surprised her co-stars behind the scenes.
“Never much time between scenes,” admitted the Young And The Restless star. “But just enough to have a little FUN,” added the 55-year-old actress, per People. “Just having a little fun,” Bell added from her dressing room.
And the Young And the Restless star showed how she made her way around the CBS studio film set to scare her co-stars. For instance, Lauralee used her noisemaker to scare Eric Braeden (Victor Newman), Joshua Marrow (Nicholas Newman), and Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers). And some of the Young And The Restless stars felt so shocked at the noise that they leaped into the air and cursed.

However, Bell also took time to share her appreciation for fans of The Young and The Restless on social media. And she shared, “Happy New Year!!! #yr is so grateful for you!! We were taping our #newyears show. Why not bring a horn!! # #happynewyear #2024.” Lauralee’s daughter, Samantha Martin, helped her mother by editing the video.
And although Bell enjoys such playful moments on set, she has expressed gratitude for her 40 years portraying Christine “Cricket” Williams on The Young and the Restless. But the actress admitted that she feels as if time has “gone by in a blink.” And as she looked back, Lauralee recalled how her parents, William Bell and Lee Phillip Bell, created both The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful.
But growing up, Lauralee didn’t plan to become an actress. And then came her role as an extra at age 9 with no lines. As time passed, the Young And The Restless team penned the character of Cricket for her.
