The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that our inside CBS inside source has intel on Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) and it doesn’t look good for the Genoa City, Wisconsin serial cheater. Fans haven’t seen the cad dad in Genoa City in a while because he’s living offscreen after having ruined his marriage to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil). If our source is correct, viewers will never again see Cane, period.
According to our source, Y&R’s co-executive producer/head writer Josh Griffith could have major plans for Cane Ashby.

Our source has heard that Griffith is floating a story of killing off Cane, but it would happen offscreen. Why would they do such a thing? As Cane (Daniel Goddard) is no longer in Genoa City he hasn’t had any involvement in a plot so while it may be rude to say that the character is not needed, he obviously isn’t driving any story.
Cane is attached to Lily (Christel Khalil) through their kids and to his mom Jill Abbott (Jess Walton). But Jill is seldom seen either. Maybe his usefulness has come to an end?

Right now Lily and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) are embarking on a grand romantic adventure. She actually got his bacon out of jail in time for Christmas and for that he was most grateful.
But even before then they were sparking both romantically and as employees at ChanceComm. Now it looks like the real complication to their relationship could be Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) not jail or Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).

Victoria is definitely a thorn in LilBilly’s side, but would Cane’s death further alter their trajectory? If Cane were to die as our CBS sources suggests, Lily would be distracted by that plus tending to her kids’ emotions. It would give Victoria more than enough room to swoop in and reclaim her man from Lily. At the same time Billy loves helping a vixen in trouble so he too would be distracted if he got caught up in Victoria’s mess with Phyllis Newman (Michelle Stafford).

No. I wont miss him. I like the closure they are giving his character. People will be asking for his return if they don't. They need to tie up the question of Sam as well.
After the rediculous returning twin story it's difficult to really care. Clearly if the writers change their minds it won't matter what fans think, they will just write some silly story anyway. The Unknown Twin or the Lost During A Coma, always an easy go-to. People written out should just stay gone and make way for new characters and fresh interesting stories. It's never the same magic once someone leaves and comes back with an unbelievable story. Devon and Amanda are tacky and has just sullied his love for Hillary. And Phyllis is nothing but a spare part, haunting the GP and the underwear scenes with Nick are desperate soft porn, nothing more. The actor who played Cane gave it his all, it wasn't his fault the stories let him down. I hope he will get some better opportunities in 2021.

Cane and Lily was good together. Get rid of Abby and Chance no chemistry between them, and Nick and Phyllis that been play out. Bring someone exciting and new for Nick

Cane has been gone so long now that who even thinks about him. I don't see any reason to kill him off just in case he should be wanted back on set again down the road.
I really don't like Victoria anymore. She's nasty to everyone. Since she's taken over at Newman her job is gone to her head. I never saw the reason for her taking the hotel away from Phyllis. One example of her nastiness.

Yes, him and Lily were good together. Sure he made mistakes but who hasn't. Billy and Victoria deserve each other. They are both terrible people.

Btw Jill is NOT Cane Ashby's mother …when he first came to GC he lied and said he was Jill's son Phillip they tried to fleece her out of money. Jill developed a fondness for him but Jill was only related to Kane through marrying his father Colin ..step mom I never considered him her son!

I do like Cain and it's true that both he and Lily cheated so why is it that she still there ad he's gone, however it is possible that he may appear again in the soap as a different character that would be great.
I think that Cane's father is Jill's husband or former husband the guy that was connected to the theft sometime ago regarding Devon's money, but the money was since recovered.
yes Cane's father was Jill's former X husband ..but that only makes her step mother not mother…he first came to town telling Katherine and Jill that he was Jill's supposed long dead Son Phillip Chancellor the 2nd, in fact it turned out they were trying to scam Jill and katherine out of money, Phillip Chancellor the 2nd isn't dead but living in Australia where Cane was from. Btw Chance Chancellor is NOT never was never will be Katherine Chancellor's grandson , her husband was Jill's husband for a minute, he married her before dying ..he is the father of Phillip Chancellor the 2nd

Phyllis deserves anything negative that happens to her. She is the one that is always with her nose where it doesn't belong and getting away with it. She is one that needs to be let go.
