The Young and the Restless Melody Thomas Scott Talks Nikki’s New Illness – Scary Diagnosis On The Horizon

The Young and the Restless spoilers suggest there’s something not quite right with Nikki Newman.

She’s been dealing with insufferable headaches, which she seems to believe are linked to her multiple sclerosis (MS), as they are symptoms of the illness.

With that said, the actress who portrays the character recently spoke to SoapSteph’s Daytime Dish, revealing a new medical crisis Nikki will have to face.

The Headaches Will Worsen

The Young and the Restless spoilers note that Nikki has a lot going on. From her marriage to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) falling apart to Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) painkiller addiction and having no job right now.

Scott reveals to SoapSteph that as Nikki has a ton of stress, it’s easy for her to think the headaches are linked to this.

Still, the actress also reveals that, “… Nikki’s condition will soon get progressively worse to the point where she will be forced to get medical attention.”

Scott also states, “I’ve never played a character with this new diagnosis that Nikki will receive.”

She hinted, “I spent more time than usual doing research and prepping in order to make performance in the tale as authentic as possible.”

The Moustache Gets Involved

In addition, during an interview with Soap Opera Digest (SOD), The Young and the Restless Head Writer, Josh Griffith, hinted that Nikki’s new condition will test her marriage with The Moustache, like never before.

In fact, it could help reunite the couple. Griffith notes, “It’s going to be a very frightening period for Nikki, and we’re going to be dying for that to be the catalyst for Victor’s turn back towards her.”

Scott is also looking forward to all the drama that her character and her onscreen hubby are slated for.

The actress goes on to say, “As much as Eric and I enjoy the romantic moments, we also savor the opportunity to play the not-so-happy times in the marriage.”
