Greg Rikaart, known for his role as Kevin Fisher on the “The Young and the Restless,” shared some updates about his health as he continues his battle against COVID-19. The actor who tested positive for the virus said that he’s feeling “95% better.” Aside from that, the actor also took the time to thank his fans for all their support and well wishes.

In a video posted on Instagram, the actor said, “I’m doing fantastic.”

Easily like 95 percent better than I was the last time I made one of these messages, so the only thing is, I still have a little bit of a lingering cough and I guess I have to work on rebuilding my strength and my energy a bit. But feeling really good, stronger and better every day, and wanted to let you all know, first and foremost,” he continued.

“And secondly, I wanted to thank you all for the incredibly kind and generous messages of support you sent my way which really lifted my spirits at a time when they needed to be lifted, ‘cause there was a scary couple of days there,” he added.

It was on March 23 when the actor received the results indicating that he’s positive for the coronavirus.

The actor said that he’s the type of person who doesn’t smoke, only drinks occasionally, and does his best to keep himself fit and healthy. He admitted that this was the hardest experience he’d ever had.

The actor recalled that his entire family fell ill two weeks ago. They all recovered except him. His health continued to deteriorate and he decided to isolate himself back in March 14. He’s had fever for 11 days, had difficulty breathing, and was diagnosed with pneumonia.

Fortunately, the actor managed to pull through.

I’m confident that I have finally turned the proverbial corner and am fever free today for the first time since this all started. I was told to stay isolated for another 72 hours before I acclimate back into my family,” the actor said.

“So, nice try coronavirus, but I have another 4-5 decades worth of experiences to have with these guys. Furthermore, I want to thank you all for the well wishes and I hope you heed the warnings. Stay safe, stay healthy and stay inside,” he added.
