The Young and the Restless Poll: Does Billy Deserve Blame For Vickie’s Attack?

Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is totally biased against Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. The ‘Moustache’ applied the nickname slam ‘Billy-boy’ to the character Thompson now portrays years ago. Today, he blames him for Ripley Turner’s (Christian Keyes) attack on Vickie Newman (Amelia Heinle).

Victor and Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) first-born is fighting for her life at Genoa City Memorial Hospital. She was stabbed at Newman Enterprises’ Fiftieth Anniversary Gala, where Billy wasn’t invited to attend. But because he did and Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) followed him from the Grand Phoenix Hotel, Ripley wound up in the light show tribute that Noah Newman (Robert Adamson) masterfully prepared to honor his grandfather.

Amanda tried to offer her ex-boyfriend a second chance after he broke the restraining order. Of course, he had legal paper issued against her as well, as this surely wasn’t a productive relationship. But Ripley wasn’t appreciative of the opportunity and instead became enraged by her response.

‘Ramanda’ didn’t go well, which is part of the reason why she chose to close her practice in Madison, Wisconsin, and attempt to establish a life in GC. She had an illegal tracking device placed on his car, which he later found. But Amanda was fully justified in taking every precaution in trying to prevent harm from coming to herself considering what Ripley has now done.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Billy Abbott’s Free Will Jump

Billy had a legitimate mental breakdown last summer. As Y&R viewers recall, Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) tried to help him, but thankfully happened upon Vickie when she couldn’t.

Heinle’s character was the sole force that pulled Billy back from the edge. He seemed to be making progress toward stability for awhile thereafter. Then, as Victor presumed would happen, Billy wasn’t able to maintain himself. His rejection of professional therapy was a key red flag.

Recent reckless expressions have included walking on the ledge of the Grand Phoenix, many floors above the city streets, after convincing Amanda to do so as well. That one of the latest lurches toward doom that Billy took, with Morgan’s newest character mostly unable to resist the pull she feels toward him. Yes, they are two lost souls.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Vickie Newman Pays The Price

As has often been true, Vickie is paying the price for Billy’s behavior. Rather than just being left to bear the majority responsibility brunt in raising ‘Villy’s’ children, Vickie now finds herself in a medically induced coma as a result of needed emergency surgery that attempted to resolve a stab wound to her right lung.

Some may argue that Vickie chose to allow Billy to leave their family, without even trying to fight. Others may strongly say that Amanda’s problems bled into Billy’s life, which led to this crime being committed against Vickie, due to mistaken identity. Opinions do exist and are debatable.

Fans of ‘The Young and the Restless’ rightfully express their opinions on a regular basis. So, does Billy deserve blame for Vickie’s attack? Please vote in our poll!
