The Young and the Restless Poll: Is Billy Better Off Without Vickie?

The Young and the Restless: Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle)

Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) can’t be his authentic self around Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Thompson’s character feels as though his evolution is being blocked. That’s why he’s been telling an increasing number of people that he’s better off without Vickie.

Not a rogue, or a self-serving lout. Instead, Billy sees himself on a journey of self-discovery, where he’ll find a deeper version of whoever he is, or will become.

Vickie’s love isn’t in question, nor are his feelings for her. Choosing to move out of what was ‘Villy’s’ home on more than one occasion, Billy is also proclaiming that he will always be there for his children, both of which are his biologically.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – How About The Children, Billy?

Vickie is Katie Abbott’s (Sienna Mercuri) mother. She also generously became Johnny Abbott’s (Ryan and Holden Hare) mom when choosing to adopt the boy Billy had with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) during the last decade.

The children are still young. So Vickie has been able to shield them from Billy’s latest disappearing act. But they’ll soon be missing their daddy and asking questions about him that must be answered.

Billy expects Vickie to continue handling the full-time responsibility that parenting is. That convenient truth allows him to explore whatever Utopian dream he’s seeking.

Y&R Spoilers – Everyone Else Must Be Wrong

Vickie is smothering, as is his mother, Jill Abbott Atkinson (Jess Walton). Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) is condescending, always waiting for him to screw up.

Did it seem that the above take was coming from someone who hadn’t lived to the age of twenty? That’s not a knock on younger people because they don’t have the benefit of deep wisdom, not having experienced the repeated patterns of life that bring greater awareness and legitimate human growth over time.

As for mistakes, Billy’s loved ones have given him countless second chances. He’s come to take that for granted in a way that’s never been projected by him before.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Narcissism Isn’t Enlightenment, Billy

If Billy took the time to read he might be irked that his name only appeared in the headline and two of the three-section headers. But that’s what narcissists do, focus on themselves.

Addiction truly isn’t the issue now. And despite serious, early concerns, Billy may not be unstable. He could just be small.

This might be the final burn that Vickie can’t endure. As for the children, oh Billy will see them when it’s convenient. His current light load exists because money isn’t an issue, as the Abbott fortune allows him to simply exist in Genoa City, Wisconsin, just like he’s often done during other periods before.

Fans of ‘The Young and the Restless’ rightfully express their opinions on a regular basis. So, is Billy better off without Vickie? Please vote in our poll!
