Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) made a difficult decision on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But he knows it was the right one.
It wasn’t actually a choice to end ‘Chick’. Instead, Nick knew that the revival he and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) had been attempting since the summer was doomed because of Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) latest resurrection storyline.
Now, Nick is left with his children, who are the most important parts of his life, and a feel-good project, called New Hope. As to his personal life, well that’s what Y&R audiences have always been and remain most interested in regarding this and all other characters who call Genoa City, Wisconsin, home.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Phick Rebound Would Make Plot Sense
The plotted groundwork has been laid for months. Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Nick made up and are friends again. They’ve also since moved into the flirtation stage, reminiscent of their past pairing history.
The infamous initial edition of ‘Phick’ has been discussed and intriguingly is wrapped around the shared birthday that the late Cassie Newman (Camryn Grimes) and her identical twin, Mariah Copeland (Grimes’ current role on the show) naturally share. The writing staff could be projecting another revival of the duo that was more recently tried when Gina Tognoni (Phyllis) was about to depart the cast last year.

The fresh take on repairing with this Phyllis would include Stafford’s interpretation, as she is the actor who first embodied this iconic character and who worked with Morrow during the mid-2000s, when ‘Phick’ first formed following Cassie’s tragic demise.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Shick Bond Remains Unbroken
No matter what’s happened through the years, no amount of dissension has ever served to completely break the emotional bond that Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Nick share. This was again evidenced when they sat center stage on the couch in the living room at the cottage, looking at old photos of Cassie and themselves back in the heyday.
‘Shick’ catapulted to fame in the 1990s, with Sharon and Nick’s love story flowing into this millennium before crashing in the mid-2000s. Interestingly, Y&R has never allowed this couple to remarry, which has always felt odd.
Considering Sharon’s health crisis, Nick’s vulnerable state of mind, and the show’s history, it could be time to finally try ‘Shick’ again, even though ‘Shey’ appears solid.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – New Choice, Or Staying Single
Of course, another lady could also enter the frame. Possibly a returning character, or an altogether new character could catch Nick’s interest in 2020?
Staying single is an option as well, as Nick doesn’t necessarily have to start another relationship, though that is his general pattern. If this option is chosen, a new arc could be developed that focuses on the heart-warming work that he and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) are expanding at New Hope.
Fans of ‘The Young and the Restless’ rightfully express their opinions on a regular basis. So, what should Nick do now? Please vote in our poll!
