Some fans of ‘The Young and the Restless’ think that no one will stop Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). As of late winter, she does appear to have all the power. But that could change within one episode.
Phyllis is parlaying intel she illegally obtained about Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) into becoming Abby Newman’s (Melissa Ordway) equal partner at the Grand Phoenix hotel. That act creates a number of direct and indirect enemies, any one of whom could, or will, try to take her down.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Brief History Lesson Is Worthwhile
Stafford voluntarily departed Y&R’s cast in 2013. A juicy storyline was written that involved Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) in order to facilitate that move. A confrontation took place at the top of a staircase, Sharon shrugged Phyllis off, Stafford’s character tumbled down the stairs, hit her head and remained comatose for many months.
Gina Tognoni (Phyllis) assumed the role in 2014, performed to solid reviews, and left last year. Stafford’s surprising return was announced. She had been playing Nina Reeves (Stafford) on ‘General Hospital’ from 2014 through the mid-last year. Cynthia Watros (formerly Kelly Andrews on Y&R from 2013-2015) assumed the role Stafford originated and is still working on GH.
Y&R Spoilers – Victor Newman Can’t Be Discounted
Phyllis struck not one, but two of Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) children through the Las Vegas, Nevada, scheme. Gaining the information about Adam, in particular, and then leveraging it to force Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) into selling her shares in the Grand Phoenix.
Victor was aware that Phyllis attended the gala that honored the fiftieth anniversary of Newman Enterprises. But the ‘Black Knight’, as Phyllis’ multiple-time husband, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Victor’s longtime nemesis called him, didn’t know at the time that two of his offspring were being targeted by her.
If anyone has the ability and power to stop her, it would be Victor. However, it’s possible he’d grant clemency because of the Marco Annicelli (Bergman in a dual role) arc.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Vegas Pals And Their Ladies
Adam and Chance will not simply take Phyllis’ shots without pursuing reprisal. Whether they’re able to succeed, individually, or jointly, in bringing her down is uncertain.
Chelsea is a con from way back, as Phyllis reminded her. But Egan’s character just referenced a return to the fashion world. More importantly, she’s also just regained her ‘Chadam’ family. So there’s not much incentive to fight back.
Abby has never wanted any part of Phyllis. She was able to successfully push her out of day-to-day operations at the hotel in the recent past. Now, with this push back, Abby’s life isn’t going to swell. Yes, Ordway’s character is deeply motivated to get Phyllis. Maybe she’ll be the one to do it?
Fans of ‘The Young and the Restless’ rightfully express their opinions on a regular basis. So, who will stop Phyllis? Please vote in our poll!
