As Y&R viewers remember, prior to the pandemic shutdown, a story was brewing that had Adam blackmailing his father Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). Adam was upset when Victor didn’t appoint him CEO following Victoria’s medical leave.

However, when Adam discovered that Victor may have committed a crime, he decided to use the information for good use. Believing that Victor killed Alyssa Montalvo’s (Maria DiDomenico) father, Adam threatened to go to the police if Victor didn’t comply with his demands.

Victor gave in, much to the chagrin of the rest of the family. However, Victor later revealed that it wasn’t him who killed Alyssa’s father, it was Adam.

Despite all the pain and hurt the father and son have pulled on each other, Victor still loves Adam. He’d do anything for his son. He knows that if Adam went to the police with the information, an investigation would show Adam was the real murderer.

Adam’s already been through enough and Victor doesn’t want to see him go through any more heartache. He’d do anything to keep this a secret and protect Adam from prison.

However, that may change thanks to Nick and Victoria.

There’s no love lost between the siblings. Nick and Victoria have made it known they don’t trust Adam. Upon learning that Adam blackmailed Victor into giving him the CEO position, they’re going to be furious.

Victoria worked hard to earn the title of Newman Enterprises CEO. She was overjoyed that Victor trusted her enough to hand over the reins to her.

After taking some time off to recover from her stabbing, Victoria was ready to return to work. But her time at the office was cut short when Victor announced Adam would be taking over.

A furious Victoria will want revenge on Adam for stealing her job. As for Nick, his history with Adam is well known. Victoria and Nick will want payback for Adam, and one way to do that is by turning him into the police.

They feel Adam deserves what’s coming to him. Turning him into the police will give him punishment and get him out of their lives forever.

However, what Nick and Victoria don’t know is that their plan may cause more tension in the Newman family feud.

Of course, this will heat up the on-going rivalry between Adam and Victor. Adam will believe that Victor’s behind this, and will make him want revenge on his father.

Meanwhile, when Victor learns it was Nick and Victoria who turned Adam in, he’ll be angry. All Victor wants is for the family to be united. He wants Adam to be part of the family too, yet the others continue to make it difficult.

Not only will this destroy Victor and Adam’s relationship, but also Nick and Victoria’s relationship with their dad.

This storyline is already creating tension with the Newmans, and it’s going to get worse as the story progresses.
