The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that fans were disheartened when both Hunter King (Summer Newman-Abbott) and Michael Mealor (Kyle Abbott) announced their exits. Fans have been wanting “Skyle” to return and that just might happen. SoapHub confirmed that a casting call has been issued for Summer. Does that mean Kyle will have a new face, too?
Hunter King Exits
Y&R spoilers reveal that Summer has been through a lot over the years. Actress Hunter King began playing the role in 2012 and left in 2021. King won two Daytime Emmys for her portrayal of the soap character. One was in 2014 and the other was in 2015. When King announced her exit, so did her on-screen partner.
Y&R Spoilers: Occasional Appearances
King has occasionally shown up on video chats as Summer stays in contact with her parents. Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) hasn’t been the same since Summer left Genoa City. While Summer and Kyle did get a happy ending, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) is still a major issue.

Casting Call for Summer Newman
The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that a casting call has been issued for Summer. It states the following:
“Summer is a dynamic, attractive woman in her Late 20’s–savvy, fun-loving, and refined, from a powerful and rich family. The role will be under standard Sony Pictures TV daytime contract terms; with the potential of a 3-year contract.”
As for why King isn’t coming back to play her character, the actress is busy working on other projects. Right now, King is working on an untitled thriller for Top Dead Center Films. According to IMDB, King will play the role of Jael Jones.

There is no word on whether Mealor is coming back as Kyle or if the part will be recast. In fact, there is no mention of what the soap plans on doing with Kyle when Summer comes back. However, by all accounts, it seems as if “Skyle” is really happy in Milan.
Something is going to bring Summer back. It is teased to expect the new Summer to make her debut in summer 2022. When Summer comes home, maybe Kyle and Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) will also move back to Genoa City.
