Viewers were presented with a retrospective from this show’s glory era, the early 1990s. Devoted fans likely found the 1992 July Fourth-themed episode to be a treasure, as many of their favorite characters entertained them again.

John Abbott (Jerry Douglas) threw a party to honor Independence Day in the United States. Viewers saw the Abbott mansion’s kitchen, which no longer exists in modern shows.

How great it was to see Jeanne Cooper (Katherine Chancellor Stirling) Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters), Beau Kazer (Brock Reynolds), and Quinn Redeker (Rex Stirling).

Lily and Devon’s parents, including Drucilla Barber (Victoria Rowell), who had not yet married Neil as of that point in the plot, and Nate’s parents, Olivia Hastings (Tonya Lee Williams) and Nathan Hastings (Randy Brooks), were also at the get-together. Yes, those were the good old daytime days.

Jack and Ashley battled openly until recently. Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) called a family meeting and reminded them of the example their late father set.

Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) was present at that meeting. But he felt unable to forgive his wife, Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier), who has been helping Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) to avoid arrest after faking her death and trying to pin a fake murder charge on his mother, Diane.

Along with being part of the Winters family, Devon is also Katherine’s grandson through Tucker. So, it is fitting that he has been offered the opportunity to move into the Chancellor mansion by Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd).

Part of the flashback episode included scenes at Katherine’s home. That setting was long a staple of the show. Hopefully, the living room and fabled staircase, where Cooper performed her final scene in 2013, will be seen again.
