Chance told Abby that he needed an hour or so to feel sorry for himself after learning that he was currently capable of fathering a child. After that brief time passed, he planned to tell her a joke and believed that all would be okay again.
Well, Chance received what proved to be a foreshadowing phone call where he was asked if he was an officer. It’s been far more than an hour later and everything went terribly wrong for an as yet unexplained reason.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Bizarre Disappearance Is Confusing
Viewers understand Abby’s confusion, as they are experiencing it as well. Why would Y&R have invested so much time in building an Abby and Chance romance and realized wedding ceremony simply to erase the character Boaz played a short time later?
Possibly this was set to happen before Boaz had to briefly leave the cast due to testing positive with the virus? Maybe he was allowed to return as a form of respect to the actor, who was as surprised as everyone else when he announced his exit on social media?
Some unconfirmed speculation exists regarding the Boaz decision being part of a budget cut, or cuts. That will prove out or not based on what follows in coming weeks and months.
Y&R Spoilers – Nina Webster Returns To GC
It was great to see Tricia Cast (Nina Webster) return to the cast late last year. She was a longtime presence on this soap for many years, with her first run starting in the mid 1980’s.
Nina’s main storyline ties included those to her mother, Flo Webster (Sharon Farrell), best friend, Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell), Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian), spouses Phillip Chancellor III (Thom Bierdz), who is Chance’s father, David Kimble (Tom Corbett), and Ryan McNeil (Scott Reeves).
Nina was part of her son’s wedding ceremony in December. She stayed in town for a bit before departing. Her latest return to Genoa City, Wisconsin, should help Abby, who will be dealing with the disappearance of her new husband.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Which Direction Makes Sense?
Abby and Chance planned on having a baby. But as Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) asked, why were they rushing? Well, the fans know now.
Chabs learned that they weren’t going to be able to have a child in the traditional way. Then, within a matter of days, the surrogacy option had to be reconsidered because of Chance’s revealed health problem.
Boaz stated that he was told the Chance character won’t be killed off, or recast. That could be Y&R’s current stance, with the potential of Boaz return, or a recast happening down the road.
But if Chance is gone indefinitely, then a new storyline has to be built for Abby from the ground up. Ordway has solid acting chops. So she will be able to handle whatever scripts she’s given.

What a complete insult to the show's fans not to mention Donny, Melissa and these surrounding cast. This isn't the first time a storyline has been started and then dropped without a satisfactory or sensible completion. Are fans just to be taken for granted like this, with no respect? If money is an issue, as much as it's nice to see old faces why bring on more actors to pay. That excuse doesn't add up. And the show will struggle with ratings if viewers can't rely on the stories to come to a satisfactory conclusion. Now Melissa is back flopping about with a sloppy story that didn't make sense. If the show thinks they can let the dust settle and bring Melissa's husband back that's a joke, that's not acting, it's just them playing their bedroom scenes in front of a camera for perverts. It feels now like if your face don't fit on the show the actors will be scrapped. I'm so disappointed with the treatment of both the actors and fans who are obviously thought so little of.
I agree. They had a great story going which I was very excited about. I am so upset by them letting Donny Boaz go, that I no longer have interest in watching.
