It was natural for Abby to feel betrayed because Devon did agree to something other than what he is now aiming for. The legal document he signed does not reflect his current thoughts which, he claims, have been affected by all that has happened since Chance agreed to accept that assignment from the Agency.

However, Chance’s admission and series of conversations with Abby appear to have made her realize that her husband’s struggles are weightier than she can handle. So, Devon’s request, while partially self-serving, can be accommodated in some form.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Devon Hamilton Can Not Push For More

Devon volunteered to be the donor. Abby’s acceptance, along with Chance’s, allowed James’ character to become Dom’s biological father.

Abby’s choice to have Devon watch Dom while she went to Spain to bring Chance back home was a flashpoint with consequences. It reinforced the trust Abby has in her friend.

Assuming a modest custody share enforced, Devon must be careful not to push for additional control unless something else noteworthy happens. Of course, he could be asked to accept a larger role if Dom responds positively to changes that appear imminent.
