CBS The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) will be inclined to disrupt Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) latest big idea. The private club concept hat she’s developing at the Grand Phoenix hotel can become a payback target.

As viewers recall, Phyllis obtained ancient bones and then planted them at Abby’s construction site that’s across the street from the GP. That measure was taken to counter the hotel Abby is building to spite Phyllis.

Phyllis’ idea was rather clever. She knew that an archaeological investigation would take months, or more, to complete. So, the move to sabotage Abby’s hotel had to be made.

Abby acknowledged that Phyllis played this round well, which meant that the game was still in the early innings. Phyllis was surprised that Abby also offered insight into her family situation.

Phyllis told Abby that she had to work for everything she’s gotten in her life. Abby responded by saying that she didn’t have a silver spoon in her mouth as Phyllis thought. Ordway’s character passionately stated that she had to prove herself to the Newman family throughout her life in order to gain respect.

The dialogue within that scene was sharply written. It highlighted that both ladies did have some things in common, as they’ve each earned their way.

Yes, it’s true that Phyllis didn’t come from money. So, she had to find doors to knock on, or, in some cases, breakthrough, in order to make her way in life. Abby had doors opened for her, based on her lineage. But once inside, she’s had to fight to establish and maintain respect.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Last Battle, Or One Of Many?

The classic standoff has been set up. Phyllis and Abby are squaring off against each other and project to do so indefinitely.

But it would be intriguing if Y&R doesn’t always have this duo battling. They are still partners until Phyllis earns enough money to satisfy Abby’s buy-out price for her half of the Phoenix.

Abby should want Phyllis to be successful in the short-term. That would lead to a payoff and the desired severing of their business connection. But being a Newman, Abby is looking to win while also attempting to neutralize, or destroy her opponent.

Sometimes Phyllis has bested the Newman’s and sometimes she’s lost. So, it will be intriguing to see how she chooses to handle the latest worthy adversary from one of GC’s most prominent families and how Abby continues to respond.
