Abby Knows That Mariah Isn’t In Her Right Mind, But She Can’t Ignore It
Abby understands that Mariah wouldn’t have acted this way if she were in a clear state of mind, but that doesn’t mean she can simply overlook it.
Mariah took Abby and Devon Winters’ (Bryton James) son, which significantly disrupted their lives. While Dominic was fine when he reunited with Devon and Abby, he still felt bewildered by Mariah’s behavior.
Fortunately, Dominic perceived the entire incident as a large game of hide and seek, but ultimately, he was tired and wanted to return home. Had Mariah succeeded in her scheme, she could have started a completely new life with “Bowie” in Mexico.
Mariah Wanted To Be Dominic’s New Mother, Keeping Him From Devon And Abby
Mariah aspired to become Dominic’s new mother, aiming to shield him from Abby and Devon, which undoubtedly creates a complicated scenario filled with intense emotions.

At some point, Abby might feel compelled to confront Mariah about this convoluted scheme.
Perhaps Abby will seek to understand Mariah’s mental condition and inquire about what was truly going on in her mind.
If this confrontation occurs while Mariah is detained at the GCPD, Abby could decide to visit her there in search of answers. Alternatively, the clash might take place after Mariah has been moved to the psychiatric ward or even released on bail.
Mariah Faces Kidnapping Charges
In any event, Mariah is indeed facing charges of kidnapping, leaving Abby to ponder what could have driven her to such drastic and uncharacteristic actions.

Sadly, when the moment arrives for Mariah to explain her motivations to Abby, she may struggle to articulate them. Ian Ward (Ray Wise) visions were distorting Mariah’s thoughts, so she might not have coherent explanations for Abby.
Nevertheless, Y&R fans recognize that Mariah is a deeply troubled and fractured individual, and Abby may perceive this when they finally meet. Despite the hurt and anger she feels, Abby might find it within herself to feel some compassion for Mariah.
Abby Can’t Just Solve This With A Magic Wand
While Abby cannot simply wave a magic wand to overcome this situation, she understands that Mariah requires mental support.
It’s clear that Abby and Mariah won’t be rekindling their friendship in the near future; however, there will be chances for healing and reconciliation as time goes on.
