She is determined to stand with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), who she loves.

The return of Jill Abbott Atkinson (Jess Walton) happens because of the dire situation of her media division. A teaser, where Lily is offered to take over for Jill as the head of Chancellor Industries, turns the business-related drama on its head.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Billy Abbott Needs Busy Work

Billy would have a lot of free time on his hands if he stepped down from Chance Comm. That is not a good plan based on his addictive personality and history of reckless decision-making.

Jill created a job for Billy by forming this division within Chancellor and then making him one of its heads. Walton’s character wisely convinced Lily to serve as an equal boss. Doing so allowed Lily to serve as Jill’s eyes and ears.

Alternative work would need to be assigned if Billy resigns. So, possibly Jill’s suggestion about Lily becoming the head of Chancellor Industries allows that to happen?

Y&R Spoilers – Jill Abbott Atkinson Not In Town

Jill spends a lot of time traveling. Apparently, her efforts are a mix of business and pleasure.

Walton’s character can not take the reigns of Chance Comm and ride them through this storm because her character sporadically recurs in Genoa City, Wisconsin. It would be great if this longtime cast stalwart returned to regular status, but that seems not to be in the daytime cards.

CI needs a steady hand in its base of operations. Lily is the top pic since she has proven herself to Jill’s satisfaction. Viewers and employees within CI must be wondering how there can be zero other candidates for this top gig? Such is soap.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Lily Winters Wants The Job?

Should someone with approximately a year of experience co-heading a startup media division be given the power to run a conglomerate? Surely there are corporations on the other side of the screen that have made similar decisions through the years.

Lily is not married. Both of her children are in college. She does have Billy to manage, but maybe Lily could find something else for him to do at CI?

Jill would be freed to focus on family if Lily takes over for her. Billy’s mother forces him back on track and maybe the romantic pairing with Lily survives.
